Chocolate Tannoy is the solo project of Ian Sanderson.
it is his fifteenth release in a long career spanning more than twenty years. Ian has had little desire for fame over the years and has successfully masked his identity numerous times and in many ways during his lifetimes involvement with music production and his continuous experimentation within the boundaries of technology based music. From an early age he composed in improvised on the piano, was drawn in to multi-track recording in the late seventies, built primitive synthesisers with electronics in the 80's, played the saxophone and drums in early projects and developed a love of electronic guitars. influenced heavily by his families long involvement with classical music and Jazz but infused with his own passion for synthesizers, Ian cut his own path through popular music. Though well hidden and mostly undocumented, his influence has been widespread with a long list of well known artists. Very few people have not heard his music, most will have in one form or another as much of it has appeared on adverts and in films. But Ian's identity remains secret, and this site is a secret place for him to share previously unreleased material spanning two decades of achievement with other projects. if you enjoy what you hear, please leave a message for Ian via this site.

Your music's great! Are you synesthesic? That must give you a unique perspective. I'm not synesthesic but I get flashes of black and white chessboard if I hear a noise just as I'm falling asleep - maybe that's just a muscle twitching against the optic nerve though.
