   Choice in South Dakota's Blurbs
About me:
In November of 2006 the voters of South Dakota shot down the most oppressive abortion ban in recent US History. It was a great victory for women, and human rights. But the extremists are at it again, trying to pass a new ban, with exceptions for women who are victims of rape and incest, and allowing abortions when a womans health is at risk.

This site is dedicated to Womans Rights. It is an attempt to unify a group of like minded people who are willing to stand up to keep the rights woman have struggled to obtain for generations.

Please help us to use this technology we have at our fingertips to make a difference. Tell your friends, get involved and take a stand. This violation of womans rights has to end and Im afraid we are the ones who have to stop it.

We respect everyones opinions, however; We are not interested in starting up a morality debate with anyone. Please if you do not agree with us go elsewhere.

"The problem with this country is that we are beginning to moralize political issues and politicize moral issues."

March 10, 2008
National Day of Support of Abortion Providers
http://www.refuseandresist.org/ab/index.html

On this day -
Stand up with your abortion services providers and say:
Thank you for your heroism, perserverance, courage, and commitment to women.

* Praise clinic staff and doctors with cards and letters of appreciation. Let them know they have your support and thanks.
* Bring your local clinic staff flowers or a breakfast basket of fruit or muffins.
* Organize local appreciation day events.
* Organize with others to hold a March 10th dinner with area providers.
* Step up to the front lines and be a volunteer clinic escort.
* Ask your local provider how you can help.
* Write your local newspaper, call talk shows to express support.
* Take out ads in your newsletters and local newspapers.
* Use your imagination, creativity and dedication to help create a climate at clinics where women, doctors and staff can hold their heads high without feeling shamed or fearing assault.

The National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers was initiated in 1996 and co-sponsored by many national organizations and individuals, as a way to help stop the isolation and create a positive climate for abortion providers across the country. March 10th is the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. David Gunn, the first provider murdered by an anti-abortion extremist. It is a day to remember and honor Dr. Gunn and others who have and continue to put their lives on the line daily to make choice possible. Without abortion providers, there can be no "choice." And without choice women cannot be free to live and plan their lives!

In the shadow of the first federal ban on an abortion procedure and the criminalization of doctors who perform this service for women in need, and with the subsequent federal subpoenas of patient records, it is especially important right now to let providers know we stand with them.

Thanks for the add. Let's fight back in 2008 and make sure that all Americans keep so many things we take for granted: choice, privacy, destiny.

Don't let those oily Republican men slip their way back into the White House next year! Keep up the fight.

Today is March 5th, The fifth day of women's history month. The woman of today is Alice Paul.

"Alice Paul was the architect of some of the most outstanding political achievements on behalf of women in the 20th century. Born on January 11, 1885 to Quaker parents in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Alice Paul dedicated her life to the single cause of securing equal rights for all women.

Few individuals have had as much impact on American history as has Alice Paul. Her life symbolizes the long struggle for justice in the United States and around the world. Her vision was the ordinary notion that women and men should be equal partners in society.

When you put your hand to the plow, you can't put it down until you get to the end of the row.
