"The Crown" represents the first professional artistic endeavor for Congo Judah thus far in the music. It is a solid effort to say the least and is one of those rare albums that you can listen to from beginning to end without feeling the need to skip tracks. It is a strictly roots and culture album based upon tune after tune laced over one-drop riddims with the exception of "Ringin' Out", the bonus track, which is a fine example of Judah's ability to switch musical gears and dj over a hype dancehall riddim.
This album also features the hit tune "Burning" of which a video was recently shot locally in Judgement Yard. "Burning" has been enjoying rotation on local Jamaican airwaves and is poised to storm the music even more in the months to come as it is the lead single of a riddim compilation album that Chop Chop records is set to release featuring the other members of Judgement Yard.
From the intro track of "The Crown", the tune "Rasta Will Always Turning", which is an ode to the triumphs of Rasta over obstacles that are prevalent in Jamaican ghettos such as August Town, sets an upbeat, postive mood that does not diminish at any point throughout the album.
In "Full Control" Judah sings about the Operation Kingfish raid that took place in Judgement Yard in March of 2005, in which one the yards that was raided by police and soldiers belonged to Judah. In this raid, most of Judah's worldy possessions were strewn about in the yard outside Judah's home by police and soldiers in their search for guns and ammunition; none of which were found there. In "Full Control" Judah emphasizes the fact that although circumstances may be unfortunate at times, "Jah Jah got us in full control."
Another stand out track on an otherwise solid album is "Cherry Babes" in which Judah chants for the princesses over the smash Studio 1 inspired version widely known as the "Handcart Bwoy" riddim produced by Rebel Chris. With "Cherry Babes", Judah is poised to rise back the popular riddim that is still enjoying heavy rotation in the dancehall.
"The Crown" is sure to please all fans of cultural Reggae music who enjoy pure and undiluted roots music. Judah's style and delivery prove to be rather refreshing in light of his original chanting/wailing style, which is fairly unique among the musical Reggae fraternity these days. Judah sounds almost as is if he is not of this time, but rather an ancient chanter from ancient days who is chanting over modern roots riddims to uplift and heal the nation through postive chants.

Judgement Yard has recently confirmed Joseph Shepherd, Bobo David, Congo Judah and John Marcus for the Angel Magik 6th Anniversary West Coast Tour, which will kick off in San Francisco on July 5, 2007 and also feature Capleton, the King of Fiyah aka King Shango and Mr. One Blood himself, Junior Reid.
This show will be the first show of a precedent setting three-show tour with David House and Judgement Yard, as we tour the United States together for the first time ever, and more importantly, its a prelude for all of the Bay Area fans who are planning to make a drive up to Humboldt County for the 4th of July weekend to experience more of the Judgement Yard and David House volcano at the Joseph Shepherd Album Release Party and the 1st Annual Humboldt Humble Jam.

Judgement Yard and David House To Perform Together For The First Time In North America @ The First Annual Humboldt Humble Jam- July 7, 2007
For the first time in the history of the music, Judgement Yard and David House will be performing together on the same stage for the first time outside of Jamaica at the first annual Humboldt Humble Jam, to be held @ The Eureka Muncipal in Humboldt County, California on July 7, 2007.
Representing For Judgement Yard are Joseph Shepherd, Congo Judah, Bobo David, and John Marcus. David House will be represented by the 'Fiyah Man' Prophet Capleton aka King Shango himself, along with Prophecy Band.
This show is a must see for all reggae music fans living on the West Coast or those planning to be in that area as it is a Rasta affair in the utmost sense of the word. California has yet to experience the kind of fire that Judgement Yard and David House will be burning this summer on July 7. Although California and the West Coast have seen many stage shows with many artistes, when Judgement Yard and David House pass through Humbold County together this summer, it will be a first for the history books. Joseph Shepherd is set to release his highly anticipated debut album entitled 'Be Yourself' in fine style on July 6, 2007 @ The Mateel Community Center in Redway, California. In a huge night of firsts, Chezidek, one of the most powerful, potent singers in reggae music today, will be making his long awaited debut performance in The United States on this precedent setting occasion.
All of the West Coast massive who have been just itching to see Chezidek perfom live in your home town, the time has come.
Norris Man will also be making an appearance in support of Shepherd on his album release night and adds even more fire to this sizzling roster.
Rounding out the special guest appearances on this special night are none other than Congo Judah, Bobo David, and John Marcus, who will be taking over the emcee duties for the evening.
Ital food, natural drinks arts and crafts, cd's dvd's and other merchandise will be available for sale @ the event. My name is Devon Williams, A.K.A John Marcus of the Judgement Yard family and I was born in Rose Hill, St. Andrew.
I have been residing in August Town since 1988 where I h pursued a musical career as a DJ performing in the realms of the Judgement Yard family at various concerts.
Within my maturity in the musical world, I have come to realize my ability as a teacher in the Rastafari music. I, John Marcus have been assisting younger artistes in their careers.
In my endeavor to assist the youths, I have opened up a studio in August Town called Chop Chop Recording Studio where I produce various artistes of the likes of Congo Judah, Norris Man, Sizzla Kalonji, and Shepherd and more. I is now looking forward to establishing his producing ability internationally.
'Be Yourself', the brilliant debut album of Judgement Yard's own Joseph Shepherd is a message to all reggae fans that Shepherd is a definite star in the music and a true force to be reckoned with.
Like Congo Judah's debut album, 'The Crown', 'Be Yourself' is corked with solid, unreleased Judgement Yard music from the first track to the last and beckons the listener to study the album intensely in its entirety.
With a mix of chopping modern roots reggae riddims, modern dancehall riddims, r&b riddims with swagger, and inventive, original hip-hop beats, 'Be Yourself' is demonstrative of the extreme versatility of Joseph Shepherd and his high level of comfort when chanting over a variety of riddims from different musical genres.

New Crucial Cuts From Sizzla Kalonji, Joseph Shepherd & Bobo David
Kalonji Records and Chop Chop Productions have just come with some hot and fresh new tracks from the Judgement Yard musical oven featuring Sizzla, Shepherd, and Bobo David, which are now loaded up and firing shots in our listening room for the world to hear.
Straight out of Kalonji Records on behalf of Sizzla, Judgement Yard presents three amazing new tracks from the King, and all of the roots and culture lovers will not be quite pleased with these latest selections.
The first track is a gem called 'Build Ghetto Youth' in which Sizzla implores youths and youths of the slum to get their education and build themselves and their communities. All sufferers are encouraged to sew good seeds, till the soil diligently and reap a good reward. The message in this tune is definitely potent and well delivered.
The next new tune courtesy of Sizzla and Kalonji Records is another conscious slice called 'Jah Will Protect Us Always' and all roots rock reggae fans who know their foundation will immediately recognise the riddim and the sample that Sizzla used to create and develop this wonderful number. Does the foundation tune 'This Land' ring a bell?
If not, get familiar because this demo from Sizzla is a bomb.
In typical Sizzla form and fashion all the lovely ladies could not be neglected and as a result, we present to you a chopping r&b cut entitled 'Girl I Love You.' All of the beautiful princesses and empresses of the earth will truly love this one.
Bobo David also has voiced a new tune on the underground Kalonji Records produced riddim called 'Its a Party' which can also be found in our listening room. As most of you who log onto to our listening room regularly, you are all most likely familiar with Bobo David's first effort on the riddim called, 'If You Say You Love Me'. This tune has gone over so well with the people that Bobo David has voiced an additional track on the riddim called 'What Can You Do' where he chants about his unstoppable nature as a bobo rasta in the gideon. As is always expected with Bobo David, this track is straight blazing from beginning to end.
Finally from Chop Chop productions, we have the latest single from Joseph Shepherd, 'I Will Have To Go' in which the core Rastafari value of repatriation is brought to the forefront. Shepherd reminds the people in this song that Jamaica is not his home and it is really Africa that he strives to reach.

Judgement Yard was established as a community centre in August Town by Sizzla Kalonji. As the owner and founder of the Yard, he is responsible for many youths in the community of August Town, as well as youths who come from other areas to seek assistance and guidance in life as well as music.
Judgement Yard is like a home to many Rastafari youth, of which the majority wear turbans and trod the earth as battlefield warriors in Selassie Army in that I and I "burn" corruption and dirty livity. Many of these same youths who are members of Judgement Yard fraternity are musicians or have some direct affiliation with the music through production works, artiste works, etc. Some of these talents are featured on this website, but many more will follow because Judgement Yard is ever progressive and never idle. As Sizzla Kalonji is a versatile pioneer within Reggae music, so are all of the battlefield warriors who compromise the body of the Judgement Yard organism, while Sizzla represents the head.
