Sounds Like
"A bombastic joyride of joy" - Marshall, from 104.9 WRBB's Local Distortion
Emerging as one of the most energetic new acts of 2008, Chorderoy is a Boston-based breath of fresh air in the contemporary music scene. Fusing upbeat, catchy power-pop melodies with the soul and funk of blues-rock, Chorderoy creates an original sound that never fails to get the audience on their feet – the band makes sure they’d “better sing along.”
Chorderoy was born in September 2008 when Todd Siff (lead vocals, piano, guitar) and Phillip Berman (vocals, guitar) began collaborating together in their small Allston apartment. The duo began to play intimate acoustic sets together, but found that their musical aspirations required a bigger sound. Soon, Todd invited former band-mate Lorne Schwartz (bass) to join them, as well as lead guitarist Alex Schneps, saxophonist Jordan Callais, and drummer Jordan Sobel.
The sextet was soon playing gigs all around the Boston area, while Todd and Phillip continued to write. The band recorded several demo tracks in the fall of 2008, and released The Playground EP in January 2009, available on iTunes, Amazon, and CD Baby.com
Chorderoy has performed at many venues in the Boston area, attracting hip, young crowds looking for a good time, and is touring the Northeast in the August of 2009.
The band will release its second five-song EP in Summer 2009, featuring crowd favorites like "All Out," "Sailing," "Singing Loud," "Clouds," and "Bitter Woman."
