In the Jakarta’s thriving hardcore/punk rock/alternative scene, Chords Machine came out from the core of it with hip hop as its main weapon. With Fear-A new affection for hip hop from his experiences he had and all the incidents that had happened when he was on a quest in the country where people were used to beheaded and Pump8 who used to be a trance/electronic/house DJ, they integrates each other ideas and made it into a ‘track’. This ‘track’ entitled ‘Bangunlah Kawan’ was their first attempt in making hip hop track.
Fear-A and Pump8 never really liked hip hop before, both of them were used to a more punk rock/ska/indie rock/hardcore sound. They even used to be in an indie rock band together. It was a massive step for either Fear-A or Pump8 because they don’t even know how to make hip hop beats and how to rhyme.
But with a lot of considerations, Fear-A and Pump8 decided to at least try to make an effort because they just want to make the track for their own satisfaction and there are no downsides for them since they recorded their sounds with minimum equipment. No real MC’s microphone, no studio recording, and there are no fees or expenses to be made, just a laptop and a cheap microphone that people usually use for talking on skype.
Thus ‘Bangunlah Kawan’ was created, it took them quite a long time to make it. Fear-A made a little bit of promotions to his friends and showed them the track and thank God, they kinda gave Chords Machine’s first track good responses.
So here they are, pushing their abilities together to the limit to see where it will end. Fear-A and Pump8 are Chords Machine.
