SIR RIGHTEOUS D. BRILLIANT...BACK N THE BUILDIN	Jul 7 2009 7:37 AM Secluded She By Derrick James Thornton She mentioned nothing about James… Marcus or the stock boy at Lowe’s. She never said a word about that one night in Graduate school, when she experimented with Simone. She said nothing about the Kanye West concert… or how she got a backstage pass from the promoter. But now every time one of his songs comes on… She sings along… and starts talking about Kanye like he knows her. She said nothing about the men’s cologne I found in the car hidden under the seat. However…it was cheap, already opened and damn near empty… so I know it wasn’t for me. She had no explanation for last Thursday…when she got lost for hours after work. What I do know is… She walked in…rushed the food on the table and could hardly speak for trying to hide her smirk. Let her tell it… I’m overbearing…too possessive…and even neurotic. But I’ve been around the block… I’ve seen a lot, plus I’m smart enough to know when somebody else has got it. She don’t have my scent on her anymore. Her swerve…used to curve …to my nerve…but not anymore. The cakes just aren’t as good as they use’ta. She don’t play dress up… I can’t tell you the last time I seen the Contessa… Nor does she leave me drained like she used’ta. Sex between us has become mundane; it’s less like pleasure and more like a routine. And I’m growing weary of this short leash… Always down on one knee… Feeling like a fiend. I’m drinking Remy…listening to Lenny Williams. With each glass… I find it hard to believe that I…I…I…I… Been catching feelings. Here I was paying car notes and scurrying home to pay the rent.
