Chris's Blurbs |
About me:
MY PERSONAL LIFE: I've been happily married to my wife Wendy for almost 6 years now. We met 13 years ago, and have been together for over 11 years. She's my best friend and I wouldn't be where I am today without her love and support. We've been blessed with two amazing children, Madison and Jake. I cannot believe how tough parenting is but I love them to death. If you'd like to learn more about my family, check out my website at http://love.chrisarella.com.
MY PROFESSIONAL LIFE: I've worked in many different careers, and it took me a long time before I came back around to doing something that I love...design. After years of struggling wih jobs and feeling unfulfilled, I finally ended up going back to school to become a graphic designer. One of the best decisions ever. Years later, I still love what I do.
Over the years, I've honed my skills in business and design to become a Microsoft Solutions Specialist and User Experience Consultant focusing on Microsoft SharePoint Technologies. I am currently studying for my MCTS certification in SharePoint Administration and Configuration to further my career and have plans to eventually write a UI design guide for SharePoint.
In addition to being a freelance graphic designer, I was a Creative Director for a full-service design and marketing firm. I have over eight years of experience providing end-to-end marketing solutions for some of the top firms in the U.S. and abroad. My design expertise includes user-interface design and experience, information architecture, business analysis, logo design, websites, brochures, newsletters, direct-mail, and more. From business cards to billboards, intranets to extranets, multidimensional campaigns or single projects, fast turn-around or continuous long-term efforts, and everything in between, I've done it.
From early on, I've been blessed with talent in both fine art and technically ability. Possessing a rare blend of artistic and technical abilities, I channel these traits into everything that I do.
I push the envelope, think out-of-the-box, and drive towards clean and uncluttered design while providing a tangible representation of my clients' vision. My track record proves that I consistently deliver excellent customer satisfaction.

OTHER INTERESTS:I'm kind of a car geek too. My wife thinks my 2003 Subaru WRX Sonic Yellow sport wagon is a little over the top, but it is an extremely fun car to drive. I have pictures and extensive modifications list on my website at http://ride.chrisarella.com.

Who I'd like to meet:
Alive now: The Dalai Lama, Jim Carrey, George Carlin, Bill Clinton, Steve Jobs, Michael Meyers (the comic/actor, not the fictional killer), Dennis Leary, and Eddie Murphy.
If I could go back in time: Buddha, Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Richard Prior, and maybe a stockbroker or a bookie from 10-years ago with what I know today ;)
