Chris Becker has been writing songs since age 14.
As a singer, he's been a member of several west coast Southern Gospel groups including Richard and the Redeemed.
As an associate of legendary concert promoter Polly Grimes, he worked with legends such as the Statesmen, the Blackwood Brothers, JD Sumner and the Stamps, the Florida Boys, the Kingsmen Quartet, and many more.
In 1981, as a member of the Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa Musicians Fellowship he joined the group which became the Maranatha! Singers, under the direction of early CCM legend Peter Jacobson (Children of The Day.)
After stints as a CCM singer/songwriter, he recorded several Techno/Trance CDs as DJ Blurry Guy. Later, he recorded an Americana CD as Chris Jay Becker.
"I'm back to writing the kind of music I believe I was born to write... good-old Pentecostal storefront-church gospel music with an Americana feel."
Chris is currently working on his first Southern Gospel solo CD, to be titled: "Iowa Gospel."
