   Informazioni su Chris Corbett

I grew up in Draperstown (Ballinascreen), Co Derry and Cookstown, Co Tyrone and now live in London. I play traditional Irish music on flute, tin-whistle and mandolin. For some time I have been composing tunes in the traditional vein and released an album "Out of Thin Air" at the Return to Camden Town festival on October 27th 2008. The tracks in the player above are from this album.

What other people say:
" These are not slavish re-workings of elements from deep within the tradition – they are new, fresh and modern yet they don’t arrogantly or dismissively reject what went before; they achieve the “holy grail” of any sensitive Irish traditional musician – they continue the tradition. Good man, Chris – more please!

Hi Chris really great to hear from you again. Your tunes are first class. I hope to learn a few and to buy your CD. Though they are both natural and intricate, others are also refreshingly straight- forward and simple. I like these as much as the more challenging ones, though I have to admit that there are a few nice twists in some of the reels and the second hornpipe that I heard here that I find alluring.
Have a great launch at the festival!
