When I'm not bouldering, working or hanging out with my kids, I really enjoy listening to music, watching movies and playing guitar. I was in a punk band a few years backcalled Sweaty Machete, but am a bit busy for all that at the moment! I'm pretty sure my favourite place at the moment is Switzerland - there is just so much rock there and its granite! What more could you ask for? I do think Cresciano would look good sitiuated on my local hill over in Fachwen - this would be very good. I will keep dreaming! Also, I think I fell in love ever so slightly with the bouldering in Ireland, especially the Wicklow lot. Good effort the local team; Flanno, Mikey and Dermot (plus a cast of thousands!).
I would like to: Climb A Beautiful Mind V14 in Albarracin,
Karma 8a+ - Fontainbleau,
Pierre Philosophal 8b - Font,
Ammagama V13 - Grampians,
Black Eagle V14 - South Africa.
Its really frustrating trying to cover all these places with other commitments in life, but hopefully over 2008, this is quite a reality - you will see this list decrease in size, just before I add more to it - ha ha!! I think its good to take your time, and to bear in mind why it is you want to do the climbs that inspire for the right reasons. They have to shine out from the rest, otherwise, for me, there is no point really. THIS YEAR, IT'S TIME TO CRUSH AUSTRIA, AND MAYBE GET AFLASH OF A REAL 8B!!
Music
I've got quite a diverse collection, but am mainly into stuff like Rival Schools, Dinasaur Jnr, Downset, Deftones and, if I own up to it, a bit of teenage pop punk i.e. Blink 182, +44, stuff like that! Oh, and alot of Pavement at the minute.
Movies
Definatley horror - no idea why - Its fun to be scared! Also, anything with Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Jay and Bob...
Television
Dunno really - Only Fools and Horses re-runs and maybe a bit of Open All Hours.
Books
Any Clive Barker stuff - awesome, as well as Douglas Copeland, although he seems to be stuck in a 'familiar book again' rut.
Heroes
I tend not to have heroes, although being Superman for the day would be quite cool (not just for the red underpants either). Also, being Fred Nicole for the day would be good - I've always wondered what it's like being weak!!

About me: Pleased to be sponsored by:
Mammut and No Dogma Climbing
Check out www.Mammut.ch
I am 35 years old, and live in the sticks of North Wales in a small village called Llanberis at the foot of Mount Snowdon. Amongst other things I am a sponsored climber, and at the moment get help with this from Mammut shoes and No Dogma clothing (always looking for more help with travelling though!). I am currentley one of a small group of UK based climbers to have achieved the V14 grade in bouldering (5 others maybe have achieved this on British soil!). I am pretty much into trying to push my limits on 1st ascents, so living in 'The Wales' is awesome as there is so much un-tapped rock! I also enjoy repeating other peoples problems, and have climbed a few V13's abroad now, but I am only psyched if the line grabs my imagination, its not just the grade y'know (although it is cool to do something hard!). Aswell as repeating hard stuff abroad, leaving a few new V11/12 problems out in Greece and Switzerland is something I was pretty proud of! Maybe one of my finest achievments abroad was a 2nd ascent of one of Bernd Zangerli's 8b's at Chironico. Back in 'The Wales' I have recentley managed to manhandle my way up a new V13 'Daisy from Concrete' aswell as a new V10 and a few new V12's also.
Any how, that's me, and I am hoping that this year will bring new V Big ones (including the possible fall of a new V15! I'll leave you with this classic track whilst you check out my half finished site! (blogs are far to 'every day' for my liking, but I will carry on soon, honest governor...
