ABOUT ME:
I am a 19 year old writer and dreamer. I am one who seeks knowledge, would much rather prefer to be enlightened then be ignorant. Although I tend to be conservative minded with some libertarian leanings, I am not instantly in favor of the Republican Party, or any party for that matter, for as a lover of liberty, I stand for one entity and that is the United States Constitution. I believe that the individual was born with certain inalienable rights, such as the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I believe the individual has both the right to attempt to succeed, and likewise, fail. The efforts of the individual are important to a free society, with the government limited clearly and strictly as the U.S. Constitution defines.
I am a proud member of Ron Paul's Campaign For Liberty. I voted for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party for President of the United States. Every Revolution begins small and opposed. The shattering of the two-party system begins now.
I am also a writer. I blog frequently over on blogspot (linked below). Generally there, I blog on history or political subjects, but I also run a separate blog for off-topic issues ranging just about anything else in life. I also am, as I have been since a very early age, a story writer and believe in the power of writing as an expressive tool and artistic language. I write music and play as well, as well as write poetry. I am currently working on several poetry manuscripts which I hope to get published at some point in time. I also maintain a DeviantArt account, where I post my writing from time to time. If you're interested, it will be linked below.
Another interest of mine is reading. I absolutely love to reading and in many fields, both fiction and non-fiction. In the world of fiction, I'll read science fiction, fantasy, horror, suspense, thriller, etc. Really, anything that can grab my attention and keep me locked for a couple hundred pages. Non-fiction is similar. I read history, politics, philosophy, religion, etc. I like to learn, I like to be educated. I believe strongly in the power of self-education as the most efficient and most powerful method of education. I own many books and can be found often, when not writing or being vocal regarding whatever issue, with my face in a book.
I have also expressed an interest in possibly entering politics at some point down the road. Although I really have a disliking for politicians in general, given the natural dishonesty that accompanies the accumulation of power, I believe that there is something missing from our political scene. The missing aspect is the respect for the rule of law. As an American, I believe in the United States Constitution. As a Mainer, I believe in the Maine Constitution. This great Republic we've enjoyed for two centuries could easily be swept out from beneath us if we are allow the governing to break the laws that were set forth to protect the governed.
