Sounds Like
Used to sound like that, but now it sounds like this.
Chris Elliot is a singer-songwriter in the classic mould, and has been playing in and around Liverpool since 2003. His influences are reflected in his writing and performing, with echoes of Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley, Hank Williams And Van Morrison, to name a few, reverberating in his debut album- "Fierce Truth and Fortune". Released in 2007 on Liverpool based independent Viper Records, the album was released on a small budget to good reviews and gave Chris the chance to play two live sessions on BBC Radio.
"A decent debut, Chris can sing and play very well indeed- a promising start." (Americana UK, March 2007).
"A young Liverpudlian singer/songwriter with a big'n'tremendous voice, a nice line in passionate, redemptive songs about love, loss and longing. A staggeringly nonchalant ability to juggle Blues, Folk, Country and Rockabilly and re-invent them all in his own soul bearing image. Compassion, intelligence, fire and skill- Chris Elliot has this all in spades." (Tim Peacock, Whisperin' and Hollerin', April 2007). Chris lives in Liverpool with his wife Rachel and their three children (plus a dog, a cat, gerbils and fish..), and is currently working on new material. Alright fella its been ages since we last spoke how are you and your family? Gotta say i'm a bit freaked out by the video, not the one with the skeletons (only messing) You up to much?
Great sound! I listened to your current tracks a couple times through. I particularly like 'Raise the Dead'; 'Scam Demo' has a very pleasant, gritty blues sound, and I was reminded of a mixture of Elvis and Lennon on 'Love Don't Mean A Thing'. SO, any plans for coming here to the States? I think you'd do well!
