Country music is an art form of stories… and country music artist Chris Filer has plenty to sing about. Raised in rural Missouri, Chris has always balanced the desire to work the land and to work the road. He started writing music in high school, fell in love with his wife of 15 years, Kelly, and eventually became co-owner of a regional seed company and 2000 acre farm in the beautiful Midwestern U.S.. Raising corn, growing soybeans, and long work days are part of everyday life for Chris. Of course, recording new songs in the studio he built at the back of a family barn and fishing with one of his three kids in the lake behind his house are also common place for Chris.
Chris Filer is passionate about life and that is reflected in his music. He has a natural ability to communicate with audiences and can’t wait to get on the stage as soon as he gets off the tractor. Chris sings about how he feels, what he sees, and what he’s learned from life experiences. So whether he and his band are bringing down the house at a local country hot-spot, doing an acoustic set at a big city coffee house, or entertaining the community at his families’ regional country music theatre – Colonial Hall @ The FARM – one thing stays the same, Chris Filer is genuine, honest, and his music tells a story..
