About Life Sounds Better With Your Head Above Water
Update 02/09/09. the last two have seemed a bit heavy so figured i'd do a happy one. Born out of thoughts of the swines that shout stuff at ya for no reason, or people who are up their own exit. For some reason imagine driving round in the summer with friends. All sounds a bit one tree hill, and i apologise, it really is an awful show. The long end bit im going to try and record over with the sounds of a load of friends just hanging out. Ta for now x.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update. 01/09/09. Hammered drunk. Surrounded by empty bottles of wine, this is the end product. The recording which throughout was carried out with a 'one eyed drunk texting' approach to steady the nerves and the balance is titled 'Ride', although it may change. The recording finished at about 3am, in a candle lit room and as i said, i was nailed, with more Echo Falls than blood in my system. The track was meant to finish about half way through of what is the end product. the reason its gone on to have what sounds like 3 parts is because listening to it back, taking into account my state, there is the sound at the end which i have no idea how or what caused it. It sounds like a reverse scream and i was pretty much convinced (reminder i was beyond trashed) that it was some kind of spirit / demon thing dueting with me. Anyway cheers for listening. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Updare 29/7/09. So the newest ditty has been added and its a 'Far Cry' from the rumble jumble of effects and delay. this is just plain old distortion. theres a lead part around 2min12sec's which i have absolutely no memory of playing. Once again thanks alot for taking time to give it a listen.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Update 22/7/09. Sparks: Anyway, the new one is up and is called Spark. It got its name because at the beginning, instead of recording actual guitar playing i pulled the jack at the end of the guitar lead out of the socket about half way and recorded the drone of the feedback, and then played around with loosening the connection on the lead itself, making that electric sound. It either sounds atmostpheric or rubbish depending on which way you swing. Either way im pretty sure its never been done before. My brother however thinks it sounds like a Dutch - German man friendly dance song. I think he's probably right. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyone who thinks to themselves that these songs are missing 'drums or vocals' give yaself a big pat on the back. The songs included on this, alhough relatively rough in their finished product are still complete ideas non the less. They're kept rough for a reason as i dont really think that anyones day-dream state of emotion is neatly cut and defined. Instead of being this nice, neat packaged piece of music its more of a rough pile of pieces thrown together. I like that there are mistakes throughout and figured they were best left in. The idea is to put something there that you can listen to and make your own mind up. The song titles are actually a load of rubbish. To me, they represent something that i thought of or some OTT load of garbage at the time of either writing it, or putting it on here and are simply there to name them. Ignore them please. The only other thing to say is that i am genuinely greatful for anyone who gives anything on here a listen. So ye - ta very much.
