'Fucking, last night was the third Dance Like... A Bastard, and boy were there some bastards there (haha). As expected, everyone totally did one when Chris Hennessy took to the unbelievably cramped stage with his apparently unnamable chum which came out sounding like the Mars Volta having a serious head punching competition with Battles.'

by Charles Fucking Dickens

'One man splitting the musical atom into it's constituent parts, then reassembling it in 5/4 using just a laptop and guitar. Stunning use of the lesser known parts of the guitar which will surely raise a few eyebrows.'

We’re throwing a joint LAUNCH PARTY for our new record label, barhouse records, & the first ever release, Tribe, by Cat House.

Music on night will be a mix of the sounds you can expect to hear coming from the record label.
We have the rhythmic infused pop of Cat House playing live, which includes a performance of their release TRIBE.
There is also a very special garage dj set from Chelmsfords man of the moment - ESSER, plus live SKA from NEW TOWN KINGS!
Plus barhouse resident djs VOID COLLECTIVE are also on hand to provide a loving mix of funk, disco, house, indie and bass driven grooves.

We also have a very special guest in the shit hot producer & DJ, Alex metric.
Alex was voted producer of 2007 by Eddie Temple Morris and has gone on to produce ADAM FREELANDS new album on Marine Parade. As well as remixes under his belt for the likes of Infadels, Stanton Warriors, Hard Fi, Autokratz & Cassius he also has remixes coming out for Ladyhawke & Primary 1/ The Shoes. Alex is also about to have his very first show on RADIO 1!!.
Look out for his new EP out in April, with an album to follow in September.

As well as releasing music on the likes of Skint, Southern Fried & Moda Music Jaymo also hosts his own Radio 1 show on the first Friday of every month with his Moda hombre, Andy G

I’ve got an idea for recording dude, coz we both know the first song pretty well. I’ll record bits of it this weekend just with one mic and send it over as an audio file.
(I’ll set up a hotmail account that we can both use) then u can listen, play along and tell me if it’s right. If it’s all ok then I’ll record it properly at the college I work at in London.
Then send it to you. What’s your college like? Are the recording facilities good?
Because you could do guitar there couldn’t you?
It’s just about getting the right guitar sound for our sound. Either by a nice beafy metal amp or just record clean and wack some plug ins on it. What’s your college like for that kinda stuff? I reckon we should double track rhythm parts and beaf it up. I also know a couple of competent bass players through the college who are willing to record bass parts for it.
