I experienced a life changing moment when my Father died in Nov. 2007. My Dad was an incredible role model who I loved and respected more than words can express. Helping care for him during the last six months of his life was the most rewarding time of my life. After his death, I decided to put my insurance and financial services business on hold and volunteer with the hospice agency that cared for my Dad. I traveled around the Country helping the people who are on the frontlines in providing end of life care for dying patients and their families. More importantly, I found my mission that I feel called to do, namely help others. Through helping others appreciate living in the moment and enjoying the gift of life I am truely fufilled.
There is no greater gift than life, and through organ donation, we all have the awesome opportunity to save lives and honor our loved ones in an incredible way. I work as a Hospital Liaison with a organ procurement organization. I am stationed at a major teaching hospital/transplant center in Tampa, FL and work closely with the medical professionals who through the miracle of organ donation and transplantation, save lives everyday. There are almost 100,000 people waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. As many as 20 die everyday while waiting. Yet everyday thousands of people die and are buried with organs and tissue that could save and/or enhance the lives of suffering people. To learn why/how you can become an organ donor check out my Blog above.
