Chris Lopez has been playing music most of his life, beginning with classical guitar lessons about age 11. He and friends formed a band in high school, and Chris has since played in and around the San Antonio area as a solo/duo acoustic vocalist, guitarist and was front man for cover bands, ALLEGED and STRING THEORY.
In recent years, he was a contestant in 2004 for the San Antonio ABC Affiliate, KSAT-TV’s, ‘GIMME THE MIKE’ talent show. He was one of 25 selected from over 600 entrants. He was also a ‘TEXAS STAR’ Finalist on the syndicated show, ‘TEXAS COUNTRY REPORTER’ talent search in September 17, 2005 in Waxahachie, TX and has appeared on the San Antonio NBC Affiliate’s local program, THE SAN ANTONIO LIVING SHOW in October of 2005 and on the FOX Morning show in Jan 2007. Chris sang The National Anthem @ The AT&T Center for a Spurs/Lakers game in March 2009 as well.
Chris is currently playing regularly at most of the more popular clubs in San Antonio, and venues in Temple, Waco, Laredo, Killeen, Alice, Del Rio, and Oklahoma City and looking to expand out and beyond.
Although to date, Chris has played mainly 'cover' songs; the plan has always been to play music for a living, (which in San Antonio means playing covers), gradually adding original songs to the mix and eventually become an all original working musician. The release of 'Wake' in Oct 2006 was the first step in that progression from covers to originals. Expect to see & hear this gradual transition in the months to come.
