Influences
Lots. To many to list fully. Here are some: The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Jane's Addiction, the Peppers, Soundgarden, Faith No More, the Clash, Run-DMC, the Police, the Cult, Beastie Boys, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Beethoven..., and many more. Musicians are influenced by all the music around them, even the stuff they do not like.
Sounds Like
.::liquidstereoproject sounded a little like the Roots, Blackalicious, Jurassic 5, stuff like that. (a+) machines was a little more modern rock, ala Incubus and Queens of the Stone Age. Jared Francis is a Texas singer-songwriter type, like Todd Snyder or Robert Earl Keen, but with a kind of Garage Rock edge. Cari Hutson is a vocalist channeling the ghost of Janis Joplin, and we wrote funky, jazzy R&B tunes with her, like Joss Stone and Erykah Badu. Whew.

I'm also a recording and live sound engineer, and I've worked with a variety of area bands. I am also one third of Electric Mayhem (ok, a small third), a weekly Wednesday night hip-hop party at Lucy's in San Marcos. DJ Crown and Chief hold it down with four turntables, and I do the sound and drink gin and tonics.
