Home Grown Artist Continues to Grow
Some good things start simple.
Chris Marks started out as a one man karaoke show in 2000. Fueled by his hunger for greater exposure he hooked up with area musicians and performed when and where he could.
In just a short time Marks has gone from bar rooms to ball rooms and beyond. He has performed in venues such as the University and Downtown Charlotte Hilton and festivals from the beaches of SC to the mountains of NC. Throughout his travels he has remained grounded and still makes time to frequent hometown haunts like Coyote’s in Concord and JD Shucker’s in Albemarle, NC to perform.
Marks takes popular country and southern rock and adds a dash of classic rock and oldies. When asked about his influences, Chris names everyone from Montgomery Gentry, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, and Toby Keith to rockers Bon Jovi, Lynyrd Skynyrd and John Mellencamp as inspiration for his performances. With such a broad spectrum of musical influences Chris Marks puts on an energetic show with enough variety to quench anyone’s thirst.
In late 2005 Marks made the move to go solo in his career. Meticulously he combed the region for like-minded musicians to put together the ideal band that had both the talent and ambition to carry him to the next level in his career. Now with a new backing band, tons of support and an album in the works the sky is the limit.
