Chris started stealing the spotlight by doing off Broadway musicals at 5 years old. By the time he was 11, the rock music bug had bitten. Hard. Over the next 6 years he taught himself to play bass and Moved to Los Angeles to “pursue the dream” at age 17.
Upon graduationg music school. Chris found himself playing bass for singer Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey) and jamming with many of his teenage idols.
After years of extensive songwriting, recording and live performances with diverse artists like Craig Polivka, Mike Vescera and X Factor X, Chris toured the USA, Europe and South America with Jeff Scott Soto’s solo band.
Chris has filmed no less than 5 best selling bass instruction DVD’s worldwide for Rockhouse. They can be found on all the top music store websites and popular music stores.
McCarvill went on to play bass and sing backups for international recording and touring artists Eddie Ojeda (Twisted Sister), House of Lords and Dokken. Harmonizing with the likes of Jeff Scott Soto, James Christian, Mike Vescera and Don Dokken has given Chris an enviable vocal education as well.
With a huge appetite for new sounds and creative ideas, Chris operates Skypod Studio like a mad scientist out of his house in Plymouth, CT. He may also be on a stage near you...
