Chris Miller-vocals and guitar. I play most of the instruments on my recordings because I can't afford real musicians. So, I also can be heard playing slide guitar and dobro as well as a bit of fiddle and mandolin. And I own an accordion. I also play some banjo, harmonica, and bass.

"Chris Miller's latest release, "Rabbit Flat Revisited", shows a player who has done serious study. While a folk feel dominates his playing, the complex mix of wonderful chordal work and well-placed single lines and bass notes mixes healthy doses of country, jazz, and strong European influences."
John Heidt, Vintage Guitar magazine.
"The sound of a 12-string Rickenbacker fuels the title track, which is as apocalyptic as it is poetic. That's followed by "When Elvis Shook The World". The folkies have to have a song about trains, the country artists sing about Mama and the rockers have have at least one song about Elvis. Amen."
"You gotta admire his way with words."
"East Of Eden" review from the Top 12 Independent Recordings, Performing Songwriter Magazine.
"Dear Chris,
I have to be brief but I had to telly you that I think "The Lost Boy" is just tremendous. I have to think if you keep putting out work of this quality you're going to succeed.
Just hang in there. You are really good. Open for me any damn time.
Tom Paxton, singer-songwriter and 60's folk icon.
"Miller's singing and writing styles imagine Dylan never leaving the Minnesota Iron Range, and hanging out with working folk, John Prine still with the Post Office, and, as on "Bluegill Moon", Tom Waits back in a La Cienega lounge. "The Mirror Behind Johnny's Bar" should out live us all as a raucous summer lodge standard."
Review of "The Lost Boy" Dirty Linen magazine.
"Miller proves to be quite the wizard on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, dobro, bass, and even the button accordion. "Springfield, Illinois" employs all those instruments with music that, along with masterful lyrics, paints a beautiful picture. Same goes for "Scarlet Moon Over Jasper Street" with the only electric guitar part on the record. The bluesy, gritty feel goes hand in hand with the tale of the kind of area of town found in every major city."

The video features Bill Penn and I performing in Austin,Texas a couple of years ago. It was filmed by Hank Sinatra, Austin Music Video. He used two cameras, both with a wide angle lens, so don't try to adjust your set, it's supposed to look that way. Doesn't Bill have nice legs?
The photographs accompanying my songs were provided by Wm. A. Penn from Midway, KY. Check out Bill's store online, www.midwaymuseumstore.com.
