KMFDM - Kein Mehrheit Fur Die Mitleid
Roughly Translated: No Pity for the Majority
Spawned in Germany during 1984, KMFDM pioneered the crossover between techno/dance and heavy metal with their signature industrial sound. Moving to Chicago in the mid-80’ s KMFDM was the pride of Wax Trax Records during the label’s peak. Rapidly evolving year by year through intense experimentation and touring; the band has redefined themselves with each new release.
Venturing on to dabble in side projects and then re-establish KMFDM in Seattle during 1999 Sascha’s revolving band of misfits stood the test of time. Currently helmed by the dual vocal attack of the band’s founder Sascha and siren Lucia KMFDM celebrated 20 years of musical excellence by performing 62 shows in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia in 2004.
To quote themselves, “The future belongs to those of us still willing to get our hands dirty”. Living by their D.I.Y. philosophy, KMFDM has launched their own online store, KMFDM Store and record label, (KMFDM Records). In 2005 they embarked on a World Tour of 18 countries in support of their full length CD Hau Ruck. 2006 saw the release of a new remix EP titled Ruck Zuck and the Hau Ruck Zuck USSA Tour with opening act Combichrist.
KMFDM remain a musical entity to be reckoned with. Through relentless musical exploration and reinvention they have continued to top themselves. KMFDM’s most recent album, 2007’s Tohuvabohu, is no exception. In 2008 they released their first full blown remix album ever, Brimborium. The album features 13 tracks and clocks in at over 73 minutes running time, offering dancefloor freaks and ultra heavy beat fans a disc that is packed with remixes and never before released material. Brimborium is available now on Metropolis Records/Metropolis Records.
Celebrating their 24th Anniversary on April 29th, 2008, the band announced KMFDM 24/7, a series of twenty four seven inch vinyl singles featuring tracks from the band’s original 12" singles and classic album cuts. The singles will be released on the first of every month in the order they were originally released for 24 months culminating on Feb 01, 2010 with a brand new exclusive single. Each of the 24 singles is available in a Limited Edition First and Only Pressing of 250 copies. All tracks have been remastered specifically for vinyl and the covers for all the singles will feature original classic KMFDM artwork by Brute! (except the first release, which is by Jr. Blackmale).
In addition to their new material KMFDM has re-released their entire back catalog from the band’s Wax Trax! Records era as KMFDM Classics via Metropolis Records/KMFDM Records. All KMFDM Classics are remastered with deluxe booklets and some contain extra tracks. Their ten classic albums, What Do You Know, Deutschland?, Don’t Blow Your Top, UAIOE, Naive, Money, Angst, Nihil, Xtort, Symbols and Adios are available now.
The classic KMFDM side project Excessive Force has had their entire catalog re-released with the same treatment given to the KMFDM Classics by Metropolis Records/KMFDM Records. Both Conquer Your World and Gentle Death are out now.
The self-proclaimed fathers of industrial-rock show no signs of stopping.
hello Chris, just finish to upload a track of the band Z on youtube 2 hour show great, I think I miss the first 15 minutes but after I can listen all the show listen you in 20 minutes :)
Ah not much. Just got up for work. I have to train the morning shift cause there's not much business during the night shift, which is when I'll be working. Getting up at 5 is crazy, lol.
Oh yeah I saw that. I've been following Alfa MAtrix pretty closely lately. Have you heard that Acylum album that was released not too long ago? It's SO good.
I've got four things going at the moment, two of which are performing and the other two that are producing some material at present. The two active projects are N.p.m.N. and Ascension. We're both playing a show together in Santa Clara on Feb. 12th, so come out to that and bring some company. I'll be obtaining some tickets soon, which will get you in for just 5 bucks a peice. There's a great lineup with a powernoise dj battle, DJ Nexxx spinning hard ebm, Cynical Mass, Ascension, N.p.m.N., and another group that is yet to be announced. You should see flyers popping up online after new years. My other works are in The Black Company and Disinvoltura. There's nothing posted for Disinvoltura yet, although a page has been up in a construction state for some time now. The black company has an established page on myspace.com/theblackco and can also be found on reverbnation.com. This is a project that has been performing since 2000, but it is currently going through some major lineup changes. What you will find posted is my solo work that has yet to include their efforts. Regards.
Graveyard was made for Only Children-app says,Can u get along with others an urrself,yes-can u deal well with being bored,yes... LMMFAO.. but tha truth... lol
Wow, sounds awesome. Any idea when? Jason from WGTF told me they want to tour early 2010 and he definitely wants to come up here so that would be killer to see them. As far as cost goes, I'd definitely pay to go and it would surely have to be of benefit to the bands and venue, so that many bands to split up the money..well I'll let you figure that out! haha, I've no clue. But I'd probably rather go to a paid show than a free one actually, cause a free one might have too many "non-fans" who don't even know WTF is going on and are just there for a free show. Although, something can be said about getting New Blood into the "scene". So, two sides to every coin I suppose.
Also, have you seen the Kinetik Festival line-up? Saturday looks especially badass. I don't know if I can go this coming year (May) cause it's in the middle of the term, but almost definitely the following year.
waw, you must have an enormous collection of trax send me a link when you start tomorrow sure tomorrow I'll have the head to listen music good end of night
