Short introduction: Chris Ognjen Kikic was born in 1982 in former Yugoslavia. Moved to the Netherlands in 1994 due to the early nineties civil war that raged the republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Currently living in Almere and studying at the Conservatory of Amsterdam(pop department). Teaching Guitar and Bandcoaching at Dutch School Of Popular Music(DSOPM) founded and managed by Jack Pisters(S.C.A.R., Anouk, Avalon).
Guitarist/singer/songwriter in Kikic[pop/rock], Evant Garden[experimental rock] and Land of Airplanes[power trio], guitarist/co-songwriter with Simon[pop/rock].
Also done some other projects as a co-songwriter/performer with Astrid Kunst(Stereo) that is called Kunst & Kikic and a three-piece acoustic balkan formation with Paulina Dubaj(Secret Umbrella) and Thijs Boontjes(Anouk, King Jack) called Jeste Jana. Former guitarist for a.o. Keith Caputo & the Sad Eyed Ladies.
Land of Airplanes recorded a few EP's from 2001 - 2005 and supported acts such as Alter Bridge, Intwine and GEM.
Recorded an EP with Simon in 2007. The single "Superstitious", released on Who's Next Records (PIAS Digital Benelux), received some airplay on 3FM and Radio 2. The single was also released on a Radio 2 compilation "Car Classics", among a lot of great tracks like Driver's Seat(Sniff'n The Tears) and Born To Be Wild(Steppenwolf). Currently, Simon and the band are preparing for the recordings of a full lenght album which will be released by PIAS.
Played with Keith Caputo(Life Of Agony) from 2007 - 2008. Did a couple of tours through Europe and the USA. Supported Within Temptation at AHOY(2008) and Kane on their 2008 spring club tour. Chris is appearing on "Hole in the Head", B-side track of Keith Caputo "Crawling" single from A Fondness For Hometown Scars that was released in 2008 by Suburban.
Het is alweer 7,5 jaar geleden dat ik mijn boekingskantoor opende onder de noemer ' The Choice For Better Noise'. Tijd voor een feestje lijkt me!
Met Astrosoniq (try-out gig), Gomer Pyle en het Duitse noiseduo Dÿse in de zaal van W2/Den Bosch en The Liszt en Niels Duffhues, beiden akoestisch in de foyer, ben ik van mening een kwalitatief hoogstaand en afwisselend programma te presenteren. Bovendien zal niemand minder dan Walter Roadburn van tevoren, tussen de bedrijven door en na afloop een vette DJ show verzorgen waarbij de focus zal komen te liggen op het betere 70's werk. Slechts 10 euro entree en daarvoor krijg je dan ook nog een hapje geserveerd.
