Drummer/Guitarist/Composer Chris Quinlan f.dip.a
is best known as creator/producer of the Award winning Australian Channel 31 TV show "Melbourne Musos".
Melbourne Musos has been one of the most popular and consistent TV shows on Channel 31 with 400+ shows being produced for Community TV since 1995; Best described as a “musical cooking show”, Chris gives on air drums, guitar and general music and playing advice, winning the 2000 award for “Best Educational Program on Australian Community TV” and nominated in 2004 for the “Award for Special Achievement”.
Chris Quinlan (F.Dip.A) is author of the M.M.D.C. ... the Melbourne Musos Drumset Curriculum syllabus and companion books, the first drumset syllabus of its kind in Australasia, now being used throughout South East Asia. He has received the Fellowship Diploma (F.Dip.A) for Composition
An endorsee of DW Drums, Paiste Cymbals, Evans Drumheads and Vic Firth drumsticks; Chris has had articles and interviews published in various music magazines and his website www.chrisquinlanmusic.com is listed with the National Library of Australia’s PANDORA archive.
Chris has also written music in all genres for various ensembles from, Rock, Jazz to Classical; Works include String Quartets, Music for Wind Instruments, Ballet Music and in 2006, Symphony No.1 for Orchestra.
The four pieces of music presented here are from the "Orchestral Oddities" album; a cross-section of Chris' work in the classical genre.
