Started playing the guitar at 8 years old. Went through numerous small local bands from 1985-1994.
Hooked up with Kim Rocker in the fall of 94 and decided to form a band where friendship mattered more than ability. Micro (drums) and Ego T. Superstar (vocals) were drafted to the project that became known as CHINESE TAKEAWAY.
In 1995 Tommy Terrible joined in on 2nd guitar. A demo was cut that only led to refusal letters from various recordcompanies.
1996 saw the self financed debut CD "Totally Taken Away" being released on their own label and things took off with a bang! With the help of Jeff Dahl, Kevin K, Glen Matlock and others the 1000 copies sold out quickly and landed the band a record deal.
The 7" "Plastic Passion EP" was released in 1997 and promoted with extensive touring throughout Germany, Holland etc.
1998 held the release of the full lenght LP/CD "Fuck Billboard, We re Stars", as well as a re-release of the now sold out "Totally Taken Away" as a double 7". More touring and adding Cathy on vocals and Volvex on saxophone.
1998 was also the year when KLICHEE PRODUCTIONS rehearsed a lot and some pre-demos were cut. The project was shortlived due to Spinx commitments elsewhere and Chris, Kim and Micro had Chinese Takeaway to attend to.
In 1999 CT recorded an as of yet unreleased album, made a disasterous trip to Germany and broke up in the fall due to personal and musical differences.
Chris, Micro, Kim and Volvex recruited rythmguitarist Mats and The Executioner on vocals for their rock n roll project BELA KISS.
BK recorded the Hanoi Rocks tune "Shakes" for the 11th street... Tribute CD to Hanoi Rocks aswell as a (once again) self financed 6 song CD.
The band was shortlived and in 2000 Klichee Productions resurfaced under the name SWINDLE-A-GO-GO. The demo "On the Rocks" was recorded and released just as the band underwent a lineup change. Out went Kim and Ego and in came Jennyfer Star on bass. The 4 song "Rehab-E-Lula Stories" was recorded and released in 2002. In early 2003 Chris was burned out from things always seeming to go wrong and excessive substance abuse and left the band, sold all his guitars/amps etc.
Focusing on other kinds of art and moving to SoCal was a great choise and in 2008 the fingers started to itch to scratch a guitar again.
2009 is the year that new songs are being written and a new band is on the way. In the meantime hope you enjoy some oldies but goodies! Contact Tables
