I'm a simple girl....a tall girl...5'11 to be exact...no, i didn't play volleyball or basketball...i tried modeling and i hated it...i am actually a former ballerina, tap dancer, baton twirler, gymnast, xylaphone player, (that's how i started writing songs when i was 8!) tree climber, lizard catcher, rollerskater, shower singer turned professional musician!!! it didn't happen overnight though....my parents wouldn't let me take singing lessons, so i just went ahead and took private lessons from a lady by the name of AMEL LARRIEUX...so private that she wasn't there...you see, i would tape the GROOVE THEORY (group she was in at the time) lyric sheet on the outside of the shower and take a cold shower so the glass wouldn't fog up and i would sing the whole album from beginning to end...then BRANDY came along and tought me a few things...then, i went to a LAURYN HILL concert...acoustic...and cried...i went out the next day and put a guitar on layaway...and saved my pennies until i could take it home!!! it gathered dust for a while, until i met a lovely young lady named HOPE who introduced me to the idea of singing on the third street promenade. she was the promenade veteran...but in order to play out there without a backing track, meant i had to learn to play the guitar...so her kind brother taught me a few chords an how to pick and what not...i went home and wrote a song called "beautiful eyes", and here i am today!!! i have been playing on the promenade for about three years, and have since sold nearly 20,000 cd's...i am proud to say that i am finally a full time musician!!! i have an amazing team...read my blog above "it takes teamwork to make a dream work"...now this is the abriged version of my life...there is sooooooo much more between the lines...i will reveal in time!!! and also please check out my TOP FRIENDS...these are all dope creative souls who deserve your support!!!
thank you to my myspace friends who made these beautiful masterpieces!!!
Hi Chrissy, this is Cris from Brazil. (we met a few weeks ago at santa monica during one of your concerts) Loved your cd. Let me know when you guys come to Brazil. my email is cristiano@pacificaudio.com.br
Hi there, wanted to drop by and say hello to you and to say that I hope you are having a great week. Keep in touch and look forward to hearing from you. Sara XXX
I love your new song, "Breaking Free." The line, "Every night I lie awake, and contemplate all my mistakes," just resonates with me so much. I know it isn't quite what you're singing about, but I'm a perpetual worrier, and sometimes I lie awake and do this. Ask Casey. She'll tell you. :)
By the way, it's incredible to watch you develop as an artist. You've gone from writing songs about running away from your feelings ("Feelings"), to ones about confronting them head on. That's hard to do, and I'm glad to see you're trying for it. Take care.
Hi Chrissy ! how are you ? it was a long time I've not left a comment here !!! I've listen the new tracks, I love "Breaking free" ! the tune is beautiful like your vocal performance... And I think your acoustic performance on "Shine" is amazing !
Hope all is well, All the best for your music ! A kiss from France, KATH.
So I lived in LA last summer and would always come to 3rd street promenade to hear you play... I'm trying to get a job lined up soon so I can move back I love it out there, do you still play there? I'd love to bring some friends to hear you!
