I am a composer, guitarist (electric and
classical), flutist (1/4 tone flute and baroque transverse flute) with a broad
interest. You can notice influences from all kinds of music in my work.
In fact I try to find a balance between physical music, related to dance and
direct expression like in jazz, flamenco, tango, rock-pop and the more spiritual
and intellectuel music related to world of renaissance and barroque
counterpoint, avantgarde composition techniques, Indian classical music and
ofcourse also the pure structural sound world. Also I find much inspiration in
literature, painting, nature, politics and the personality of the musicians I
work with.

Now I am or in the next future I will be
working on pieces for Duo Erik Bosgraaf & Izhar Elias (Netherlands), a new tango
project for various ensembles, a quartet (violin, electric guitar, trumpet and
violoncello), for Globus Ensemble (Netherlands, a new project based on Chinese
fairytailes including pipaplayer Liu Fang) a piece and flamenco - jazz project
for EBNM, collaborating with Jeronimo Maya (Spain), a guitarquartet for Quartet
Galiu and a piece for guitar and saxophone for Duo Otani-Gascon, a piece for
Ensemble Sizle (Netherlands) a tango for the group Astorpia, a piece for Amstel Quartet (4 sax + tablas), a suite of 19 miniaturas for piano solo for my daughter Aitana.

I founded Ensemble Barcelona Nova Música in
Barcelona and organize there a contemporary music series called "Projecte
International d'Influencies Musicals (see top friends) , where I combine very
different kinds of contemporary music. In Holland I founded a new
intercultural ensemble called "Globus Ensemble" and started to organize concerts
for the moment being in Weesp (Gooi
en Vecht Concerten)

Hi there! Black Bile Extempore, an album with our deconstruction of John Dowland’s galliard Can She Excuse will be released on August 20 during the Happy Nordic Music Days in Oslo. The CD release will be celebrated with a duo performance on guitars and electronics at Sound of Mu at 20:00 on August 20.
