Early 1970's as child, i listen a Bruno Maderna record, Aquatic Sounds, it was the first contact with the electronic sounds, i was born 1972, the sounds scare me, and was one of the first record who i have to listen in my life, of course Bach Toccatta & Fuga in Re Menor... imagine that.
Clockwork Orange was produced that year, 1972, Walter Carlos- Switched on Bach was the tunes of that years plus 2001 Space Odissey later, here in Chile the electronic pionners Jose Vicente Asuar & Juan amenabar was releasing Electronic Music records many years before, but in 1973 J.V. Asuar produce "El Computador Virtuoso" an incredible record which was some of the first developments before the general midi controllers, and with a speech to explain what how when where and why is the electronic music, you must to listen.
Later in 1978 i went with my family to see STAR WARS, in the Santa Lucia Cinema, the only one with Super Cinerama!!!!, the experience was too much incredible, and affects my Sesamos Street world as a dark and light world.
I tell you all this things cause some of that mentioned tunes was the musicalization of the UFO reports in the news, and the concept related was really scare me, was a nemotecnic way to control the chilean 80's.
I live 18 years near to an airport, as an industrial neighborhood, a micro Detroit, with GM offices, Good Year and Firestone + other industrial resources, my mum works there in GM, and we play with Buick, Monza Chevette, Catalogs, cutting and drawing. Many metal sounds, where the houses ends Santiago ends... jets, many sounds, many records in my house...
Well i begin in 1988, the first record what i buy was Planet Rock... as a aka Dj Mack(from Hard Hat Mack videogame), hip hop rapper, something more fun and reactive againts to the conservator Chile mainstream.
I was djing, with casette tapes, and a mixer was made (really not joke, i draw the pcb board) by my nerd inventor friend Coto, was mutant stereo mixer( the ugliest mixer hahahah).
We come to partys with muzik was only wacky craps, then we go for the equipment an the party reborn, or really started, when Dj mack was on the Casette-Decks heheheh.
I was remixing by scratching some records of the master of funky dance tunes Harry Wayne KC&The Sunshine Band, the records from my older Brother, my sister was my partner, but she goes to Germany that year, and i meet the gettho boys from Bombero Ossa, a one block street in the middle of the downtown here, well, good moments tryng to feel the Run Dmc, Grand Master flash etc. rules, dancing and dreaming with the turntables producing records, talking on the street with anybody who wnts to talk to us, rejecting the coins what the people give to us... were only wanna dance as the best breaker. My Sister comebacks with too much new muzik, new mentality, and i learn that, that year with the several influence of Public Enemy, mix that with a Kraftwerk Sounds, Depeche Mode, Devo + Talking Heads, plus the chilean unknown bands Aparato Raro and Electrodomesticos.
Well put all in my brain, as a juice maker, make a pausse to learn my official proffessions, 1991 to...
1997 i go to Mexico and Honduras, i see the Maya culture Chichen Itza, Tulum, Xel ha, the brain reactivates to higher speed and...
Metamann begins in 1998... Formed as Publicist & Graphic Designer, Begins his career as a Dj/producer, playing in many partys & events is invited to play live with in Brazil in 2001, In 2002 is publishied in the Compilation Delahouse v1, distributed in Colombia and Peru, later in 2003 is Publishied in Techfest selection(one of the best events in Chile), 2004 is publishied in www.milrecords.com Colores V1, the elite selection of the mexican label.
Later comes the chilean compilations, Oscilación, Neruda Electronico, Secuencias 2005, also in November plays live in Bogota Colombia in the event www.encuentroelectronico.net, and right now the launch of the bolivian selection Cantar de los Cantares.
Metamann has played in the Bigmagazine launchs, Fashion art, alter Ego, Maria Ayuda, Techfest, Earthdance, Patagonica, Brazil, Colombia, plus many more selected gigs ;).
So i have to say what i love draw comics to, was the first thing what i learn to do.
