Television
i don't watch television very much except for nature shows, top gear, britian from above, and the x-factor with my mum! oh and star trek voyager sometime! growing up i loved sapphire and steel and french and saunders. i was a big fan of american TV sitcoms from the late 60's and 70's such as bewitched, i dream of jeannie, benson, alice and the mary tyler moore show. i also loved CHiPS! which was usually on saturday mornings and the dukes of hazzard! i also for some strange reason loved the 80's US soap 'knots landing'! something about the suburban california living which fascinated me! i remember watching the early seasons with my mum and then later in the 80's i'd set the video machine to tape it in the afternoon while i was at school so i could watch it when i got home! i loved the groovy theme tune! putting all those aside i am most dedicated fan along with my dad and brothers of of star trek: the next generation and star trek voyager! resistance is futile!

About me:
hello my name is Christian and welcome to my page on myspace. i am 37 years old and i live in North London in England in Great Britain in the United Kingdom.
..
my middle name is pronounced 'Torkil' and was my danish grandfather's name. i was born in north london and spent my early year's growing up in southgate. i am 37 years old. i was born on april 4th 1972. zodiac sign is aries. mayan galactic signature : white planetary world bridger. i am the son of Dave Davies and nephew of Ray Davies of the rock group 'the Kinks'.
i have 3 brothers. 2 older and one younger which is Abakus (see my friends). i also have 2 half-brothers, one being Daniel Davies, guitarist and frontman/singer of the LA based rock your arse off band 'Year Long Disaster' (see my friends). i also have 2 half-sisters. my spiritual name is 'sky'. i received this name during a meditation in Amir's Garden in Griffith Park in the Los Angeles mountains on July 12th 2003.
around 1990 after finishing King Alfred School in north london i got my first job working part-time as a music library assistant for Match Music Library. i then got a job as a secretary for Logorhythm Music in Soho. after just under a year working there i went to do an art/ film foundation course at harrow polytecnic. after finishing art college i got a job working in the video department at the Virgin Megastore in Oxford Street to save up money to follow my dream of moving to California. i travelled to Los Angeles where my dad was living and working at that time. i lived in the hollywood and west hollywood areas for a period over 10 years.
in between my first visitations to Los Angeles i worked at the HMV record store in Brent Cross, North London, to save up money to travel back to California. during my time in LA i had work experience as a runner/PA for movie and music production companies. my first job was working as a runner for a friend of my father's, the classic hollywood horror movie director John Carpenter on a TV movie called ... John Carpenter presents 'Body Bags'. working with John and his wife Sandy King was a great privilidge and gave me an insight into what it is like to work in hollywood! while working on 'Body Bags' i got to meet and work with such stars such as twiggy and sheena easton! thank you to john and sandy for making my dream of working in hollywood come true!
after working on Body Bags i got a job working as a runner for the art department for a short lived TV show called 'Viper' filmed at Paramount Studios which was like a dream come true! in fact when i look back on it now seems all quite surreal! working on Viper i also had the privilidge of being able to hang out around the Paramount Studios lot and with some inside connections managed to get onto the set of star trek: the next generation which was an experience i will never forget and will always treasure! and i'm glad i got to share it with my brother russell.
another experience i will always treasure was when my old schoolfriend crystal and i snuck backstage at the troubadour's of folk festival at UCLA in '93 and i got to meet one of my favourite singer/songwriters Joni Mitchell!
later on in the 90's i worked for a music production company working with japenese pop acts and assisting two excellent lady producers, who also worked on albums for such artists as barry manilow, barbara streisand and johnny mathis. at this time i was also assisting my dad (Dave Davies) helping to promote his US club tours, working on his new CD releases and creating and designing his website ... www.davedavies.com.
in 1999 i took on the job of west-coast tour manager for my brother Simon's band MASH! booking them gigs all around town and having a mad two week MASH up in L.A!
by the end of '99 i gave up working for movie and music studios in favour of working as a waiter at a cosmically cool coffee shop, Nova Express Cafe (www.novaexpresscafe.com) in the fairfax district of hollywood. it was at also this time while working at nova i began exploring the LA underground and overground electronic dance club scene with my south american 'raver' buddies, dancing at LA's best dance club Giant and them Spundae religiously almost every saturday night. i also began to DJ a little myself and booked DJ friends to play at the cafe.
it was during a trip back to London at the end of 2002 when my brother russell (Abakus) took me to a psychedelic trance squat party in a warehouse in east london. it was the sound i was looking for! when i returned to LA i quickly hooked myself into the psy-trance music scene and discovered desert trance and full-moon forest gatherings!
by the end of 2003, after many road trips, dancing and explorations with various chemical and natural halluncinogenic substances, (my favourite being tripping on psilcybin mushrooms in the california desert and forest!) it was soon time for me to go back to england and re-connect with my family and friends and connect with the psychedelic trance music scene in my home country.
since being back in london i have been promoting and playing ambient chilled-out beatz at psy-trance parties, and have played at summer festivals such as the Offworld festival and the Sunrise festival.
i have been a vegetarian since i was 12 years old but i never really liked meat before that anyway. i love indian, thai and mexican food! things i hate are flourecent strip lights! they make me feel ill. i can't stand to be underneath them! except for the purple UV ones we use at psy-trance parties to light up very cool psychedelic art backdrops!
i have a passion for dancing to psychedelic, progressive and ambient trance music and use this music for fun and also for my trance-dance-workout-yoga workshops i'm am soon to be starting in north london. stay tuned for details!
i am also practicing massage therapy and i have just completed Reiki II training and i wish to go onto to become a Reiki master and become a teacher of Reiki healing.
daytime jobs since being back in London have had included waitering at veggie restaurants in london. i also had a job of stepping in as cook for GSCE and sixth form students at Wentworth tutorial college in Hendon. pizza bagels was my most popular item on the menu and i thank the students for kindly accomodating to my vegetarian menu!
i worked for a couple of years as a delivery driver for the Organic Delivery Company (www.organicdelivery.co.uk) delivering organic fruit and vegetables and environmentally friendly products to your door. i got to know my hometown of London like i never have before and i get to meet lots of great people and families in all different parts of this incredible city.
currently i am working at a Planet Organic store in London and can be found at the branch in Islington if you'd like to stop by and say hi and buy some good organic produce and environmentally friendly products and don't forget to visit the health and bodycare department where you will be assisted by some lovely ladies ... (www.planetorganic.com).
i'm sure there will be more about me coming soon so stay tuned to this space on my space!
a track i like to feature in my ambient/chill dj sets by my younger brother Russell aka 'Abakus' from his previous album 'That Much Closer To The Sun'.
so my dad is Dave Davies and my uncle is Ray Davies of the rock group 'the Kinks' and this is a little recent documentary on their career with interviews with my dad ...
track i like very much at the moment by swedish progressive trance duo Vibrasphere ...
it was on a family holiday to Florida as a teen i was brainwashed by a reoccuring commercial for the Carpenters Greatest Hits collection. i loved the sound of Karen's voice and the melodies of the Carpenters music. i went back to England a converted and closeted Carpenters fan. Karen Carpenter in my opinion was one of the greatest female vocalists of our time. a woman with a natural and raw talent for singing. this can clearly be heard and felt in her excellent performance with her also excellently talented producer/arranger brother Richard live at the Budokan in Japan in 1974. i think this is incredible footage and i'm amazed i hadn't seen it years ago. this excellent clip shows that not only was Karen a brilliant singer but she was also a rather good drummer too! enjoy Mr. Guder ...
i love this clip of DJ Tiesto playing in Holland. love the atmosphere and vibe this clip really gets me excited ...
a track i have been listening to a lot at the moment by my friend Alex Sheffer aka Cell, with 'Under Your Mind' ...

"Firefly" hallmarks the cornerstone and encapsulates a decade's worth of musical ingenuity, talent, and experience. An accomplished colorful music mixing traditional instruments (flute, didgeridoo, jewharp, etc...), sensible, powerful voices, world and ethnic music touches (tribal, celtic, oriental, latino) with a typical electronic touch.
2 new tracks of Asura are available on my page, several compilation arrive this year, and of course, my new album, 360, for the last quarter of 2009. Stay tuned my friends!
