In the age of three I took my first steps in playing drums with using my parents’ cooking pots and buckets, not without damage them and make them unusable. This would have seemingly been too expensive in the long term. So my parents decided to buy real drums for me for what I am still very grateful.
My father, who studied music at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, gave my first drums lessons. Furthermore I was taught by Dietmar Bohne and Frank Schutzeichel - an excellent drummer, who prepared me for my studies extremely well. At this point I want to express my sincere thanks to my teacher.
Apart from my drum lessons I got inspired by workshops, live performances and DVDs/CDs. I take Simon Phillips, Dave Wackl, Benny Greb and Thomas Lang as my favourite models provided that it is possible to name some individuals.
Since winter term 2003 I have studied music at the university in Münster. There I took further lessons by Altfried M. Sicking (Götz Alsmann,…) and Dirk Brand (Gloria Gaynor, Lee-Z).
On 20th of June 2007 I have passed my practical examination in my main subject “drums” with a 1,0 mark. My special gratitude goes for Altfrid M. Sicking,who has prepared me for this exam in the best way for more than six terms and who is authoritatively involved in my musical development. Besides I want to thank Dirk Brand who has given me drum lessons for two terms and influenced my style of drumming. Because of the study of music and playing instruments in some orchestras and bands I am matured to a versatile drummer. Since 2007 I am an endorser for Agner Swiss Drumsticks and drums company Kirchoff Schlagwerk, since 2008 powered by Masterwork Cymbals.
Biographie:
Im Alter von drei Jahren habe ich die ersten Trommelversuche auf den Töpfen und Eimern meiner Eltern vorgenommen und diese zum Teil erheblich beschädigt und unbrauchbar gemacht. Da dies auf lange Sicht zu teuer schien, entschlossen sich meine Eltern, mir ein Schlagzeug zu kaufen, wofür ich bis heute dankbar bin.

Sicking, der mich über sechs Semester bestens auf die Prüfung vorbereitet hat und an meiner musikalischen Entwicklung maßgeblich beteiligt ist. Außerdem bedanke ich mich bei Dirk Brand, bei dem ich zwei Semester Schlagzeugunterricht hatte und der meinen Drumstil mit geprägt hat.Durch das Musikstudium, dem Musizieren in Orchestern und den Bands bin ich zu einem vielseitigem Drummer gereift.
Seit 2007 bin ich tätig als Endorser der Firma Agner Swiss Drumsticks und der Schlagzeugfirma Kirchhoff Schlagwerk, seit 2008 werde ich unterstützt von Masterwork Cymbals!
Auf dem Ammerland Drumfestival 2008 habe ich Songs meiner Solo-
DVD „Christian Hoffe – Drumming Variations“ vorgestellt und mit Top-Drummern der nationalen und internationalen Schlagzeugszene wie den Drumbassadors, Ritmo del Mundo, Marcel Bach, Markus Czenia auf einer Bühne gespielt!
