ABOUT CHRISTIE:
She steps up to the mic and fearlessly pours her heart out right in front of you. Her honest, genuine songwriting is both uplifting and thoughtful, while her voice is powerful but unique.
Christie was born and raised in Franklin, Massachusetts, where she started performing as a young child in local theatre groups and choir. Her father had a rock and roll band that rehearsed in the basement and she was the girl with her ear pressed to the door. It was during those early years she developed her love of classic sounds like country, rock and blues.
Christie's first taste of songwriting was merely for fun, writing funny songs to entertain her younger sister, Candice, who has cerebral palsy. The two sisters were inseparable for most of their childhood, and shared an indescribeable bond. Candice is unable to walk or read or write, so the one thing she enjoys more than anything is music. In 2008, Christie organized a benefit for United Cerebral Palsy with the Pat McGee Band and raised $3000 for the cause. Candice was right in the front row as Christie's band opened the show.
Christie's discography includes "The Viper Sessions" and "Live at Perks", both live acoustic CDs, as well as her "Strange Little Story" EP, which she released in 2005 with an impressive three week tour thru New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina and Florida.
In 2007, after releasing her new EP "When You Need a Moment", Christie was given numerous accolades for her writing. The title track from the EP has gone on to become a finalist in the American Idol Songwriter Contest, Billboard World Song Contest and International Songwriting Contest, as well as being considered for various television placements.
In 2003, with a marketing degree from Emerson College, Christie founded CNC Music Productions which still thrives today. CNC provides booking services for local and touring artists at Boston area venues, as well as corporate entertainment for casino clubs, weddings and corporate events. In 2007, Christie became Managing Partner of Big Night Promotions, which manages some of New England's most popular nightlife venues.
In 2010, Christie began recording with Yan Perchuk and is working on a full-length release while seeking a publishing contract.
Thanks for the add, Christie. I certainly appreciate it. Keep up your work. I used to live in MA in the 80's before moving to Nashville for good. I lived on the Cape and played all around up there. Jo Dee Messina and I were on the same circuit back in them days. I had a hit song up there too, called, Party of One. I used to go up there and do concerts and shows. Then my wife got sick, I gave up music to take care of her, and then she passed away 7 years ago. Now, even at my age, I am trying to make a comeback. I might not get what I want, but I am having fun trying. Like you say, live today as if it is your last. Take care, Hugs... Jimmy Parker Nashville, TN
Hey Christie, I know you don't really know me for anything, and I don't think I ever sent you so much as a note with the friend request either. I'm just a fan who saw you performing in Boston last January, and was really touched by your music. It came as a relief to me during a very sad and mournful time shortly after my husband had passed away. I had been simply going through the motions in life, and even in public, I was often having tears streaming down my face in sorrow, because I couldn't contain it.
Your performance helped me that night. Your beautiful spirit shone through, and your music (especially "When You Need A Moment") inspired me to keep me going at a time when even putting one foot in front of the other seemed so difficult.
So I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know that you're doing good things. You touch people you don't know and you reach them in ways you probably can't understand without meeting all of them, but please keep doing what you're doing.
As I count my blessings today, I had to include you in the list and let you know that I am thankful for you.
Wishing you a very happy and meaningful Thanksgiving!
