Bio:

Concepts, a musical language- colorful poetry expressed through the song of the soul. Music comes through the body. Emotions channel through sound waves, articulate a dance between six strings and ten fingers. She secures the instrument, centers sounds purely from the earth. Valves of liquid harmony soothe the velvet mind- a clearing opens. New light shines on a path of peace.

In each musical phrase, she ruptures with energy. Melodic fingers dance on the neck of the guitar. They shower droplets of musical nuances between lyrics and rhythmic twists. The listeners connect to her words- as if taking a breath of fresh air. She sings with deep grooves of intuition, melismatic yet concise.

A lyric hits me- one after another, the song I needed to hear. The music takes me on an odyssey- vibrant with passion, beyond the scope of my imagination. I want the whole world to feel this: a sense of peace, joy, and pure happiness. She’s refreshing. Inspiring.

BIO:

Christie Lenée is a visionary of cosmic proportions, embodied by magnetic waves of sound and the pulse of melodic motion. Her music manifests passion, electric energy, and soulful insight- transmitted from the heart and crafted into her compositions. Lenée’s keen sensibilities sit at the core of her expressions- articulated through masterful guitar pieces, poetic lyrics, vocals, and orchestral movements. Fresh and innovative, Christie has the ability to connect the human conscious and spirit through her music- often described as “a breath of fresh air.”

Lenée has composed a variety of innovative work- from folk and funk, to pop/rock inspired songs, to choral arrangements and classical orchestrations. Whether performing solo or with “The Christie Lenée Project,” Lenée’s kinetic fingerboard work, alluring voice, and rich lyrics entrance her audience. She moves gracefully from festival stages to various venues throughout the U.S., delivering profound expressions and a vibrant live performance.

As a seasoned musician of thirteen years, Christie Lenée fuses modern classical and jazz, folk and flamenco, rhythmic slaps and bluegrass- propelling an eruption of harmonic fluidity. Her guitar techniques are ornamented with open tunings, finger tapping, and acoustic percussion- all of which are colors to animate her orchestral visions. Whether performing at Madison Square Park in New York City, the Spring Scream Music Festival in Taiwan, or local bar concert venues, Lenée lights up each stage with a radiant presence. Christie has recorded and performed with a stellar cast of musicians- some including Tim Reynolds (Dave Matthews Band), Jeff Coffin (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones), Oteil Burbridge (The Allman Brothers), and Marty Balin (Jefferson Airplane).

With a dream to create global harmony through music, Lenée continues to expand upon her ever-evolving repertoire. Her song collection is vast with an assortment of live CDs (2003-2008), two home studio albums (Melody of Mood, Peace Is…), and the last release of studio production “Set it Free” (2009). Now working with a brilliant group of musicians in Philadelphia, Christie is on the move with new songs and studio recordings. 2010 will showcase a refreshing wave of music- all contributing to a myriad of records in the years to come.”
