Christie Lenée is an eclectic guitarist, composer, and singer/songwriter. Her music moves seamlessly among genres ranging from funky dance jams to virtuoso classical guitar, fusing funk, folk, jazz, rock, bluegrass, classical, and percussive loops. The singer/ songwriter has performed at a broad array of festivals and venues in the southeast, the west coast, and even Taiwan, and has opened for many international artists including Tim Reynolds from Dave Matthews Band, Jeff Coffin from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Oteil Burbridge from the Allman Brothers, and Marty Balin from Jefferson Airplane. Lenée is progressively achieving more recognition from community radio and newspapers, while shows are currently centered in the Northeast United States. She is also touring as a guitarist for the Angel Band (www.angelband.net), an Americana/Folk group spiriting musical integrity. Paralleled to traveling, Christie Lenée is recording an acoustic album to follow the recent release of “Set it Free.”
"She is somewhere between Tim Reynolds instrumentally and vocally has moments that remind me of Ani Difranco."
-Fluffy, Tim Reynolds Tour Manager
"...Her guitar work liquifies me, even vaporizes me and finally, it makes me whole again. Solid yet fluid, still one with her strumming, I can't help but ride the waves her sounds induce. Watching and listening to her play is intoxicating. It entrances and moves me into dance... The energy she radiates through song washes over me, fills me, gushes from me so that I feel as if I could flood the venue, drowning every blessed soul with the highest concentration of pure love and harmony that could ever flow from a human being."
-Jennifer Vera
"...She bounds from folk to classical, while dropping jazz, blues and jam-band-friendly funk lines along the way. She even wilds out on occasion and unleashes the hot, heavy licks that make classical rock fans drool..."
WT, Tampa Creative Loafing
"...Lenee's live show spirits vocals that are as soothing as a mother singing to heal her child but create the energy and passion of a roller coaster screaming off the tracks..."
-Phil Grech, The Local Buzz Mag, Port St Lucie, FL
"...fashioning a career through the six strings of her instrument and an urge to create. Technically, she has got the chops confident in the classical style, fluid in jazz, versed in pop and rock. She tackles solo concert repertoire, jams in a band, sings homemade ballads and strums what sound like rivers of rhythm."
-Kurt Loft, Tampa Tribune
