Auntie M, Sara, and my dear friend Troy. Though they are no longer in this world they made a huge impact on my life. and my mom, I feel blessed to have her in my life.
I have two passions, running and music. My Mother always had music playing in our house from my earliest memory. She instilled in my siblings and I, a love of music. Of course, back then you put a stack of about 4-6 records on the turntable. Everything from Ferrante & Teicher to Deep Purple. Still, to this day, I listen to Burt Bacharach. My brother also enjoys a wide range of music. He had me listening to T-rex, Bowie and Lou Reed , when I was 12 yrs old. When we get together talk always turns to music. The Babys were my fave band growing up and I still listen to them today.
In the late 90's I discovered Sinatra. I don't care for the Columbia era.....It's the Capital yrs I adore. There just isn't any singer out there that can touch his style, IMO. Doesn't matter what mood I'm in....Sinatra always fits!
I enjoy meeting people who like good music, good conversation and those who walk the walk......ohh, and I love a sharp, dry wit!!
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away. ~ Henry David Thoreau
thanks babe!!!!! hope your holiday season was allit could be!!!! its freezin here too and lots of snow!!! catch me up in your life y friend!!!!love mims
Ah-ooooh! Your SOTD is stolen now. Loves me some Talking Heads. I had an inexplicable crush on David Byrne through the '80's. You can stop laughing at any time now.
I have one more run before retiring Lu's Taxi Service for the day. Can't wait. Kick-off's @ 3:15...
Just walked in and set my bag down, haven't even unpacked yet. Decided to stay an extra night in town yesterday and do a pot-luck with some folks, so...here I iz.
About to have Sara take me to run a few errands here in a few. She's my heavy-lifter today, I do believes I've learned my lesson. It's going to be a lazy night (and Sunday) for me, too. I want to try and find a Bob Dylan song I heard a live version of yesterday. It's called "Most Of The Time", and it'll break your heart. I don't even remember it, either, so...it'll be happy hunting, I'd imagine.
Hope your around tonight. I'll be so bored. So, so bored. :/ I needta move...
Christie ~ thank you so much..I cannot even begin to tell you how much that means to hear..It is very important to me that all my guests be happy, comfortable and confident in my ability to use their time wisely..because that is what you all gift to me when you dedicate the moments to listen..and it means the world to me
