Christina Christian may be well known for her television debut on America’s biggest talent show, but before hitting the American Idol stage she was already an experienced performer. Christina developed her love for music early on by participating and winning many local and national singing competitions. At the age of 10, she was selected as a member of a prestigious South Florida theater group. In addition to performing with the group, her rendition of the National Anthem became a local tradition, as she performed it regularly for Miami’s top sports teams.
When Christina graduated high school she pursued a college degree following the guidelines of her family. Education was her first priority, but when the opportunity of a lifetime arose, she couldn’t ignore the urge to perform! She went to the American Idol auditions and made it all the way to the top 5 contestants. Christina didn’t win the competition, but was one of only four contestants signed to a recording deal. After a national concert tour with her fellow Idols, Christina traveled the world, writing and recording with top names in the music industry.
Upon her return to the United States, Christina developed a passion for acting. Christina made her television acting debut on the hit show CSI: Las Vegas and soon after was cast on several Old Navy Commercials. Christina also regularly hosted shows on the T.V. Guide, MTV and E! networks. Christina made her overseas television debut in 2004 as a co-host for the wildly popular British series 'Top of the Pops'. In 2008, Christina was cast as a young Celia Cruz in 'Celia the Queen', a documentary on the life of the queen of salsa. That same year, Christina began modeling. Her natural beauty coupled with her national recognition made her an obvious choice for brand's such as South Pole. Christina also regularly appeared as a print model alongside her son Caden for clients such as Toys R Us and Parenting Magazine.
Christina continues to pursue acting, modeling and musical performance. She is currently writing songs for Latin music sensation David Bisbal, as well as for her own upcoming debut. Christina describes her sound as a mix of Jazz, Blues and Rock.
