"Christina Nastasi is a self-taught artist from Long Island, New York. She began expressing her love for the arts at a very young age. Her inspiration for her artwork comes from a multitude of places. Whether its something that's induced by music or a memory from her personal life, it's always very rewarding for her to see her thoughts put down on paper or onto a canvas.
Though she has completed multiple pieces in various mediums, such as charcoal and acrylics, she has recently concentrated on watercolors and ink on various papers. This allows her to be loose in her work, creating lines that alone, separate from the entire image, can tell a story. Everything has multiple layers and meanings. This is what is exuded in Christina Nastasi's work with her careful choice of color and line."

Been doing watercolor sketches lately. Pretty fun, but very unforgiving medium. I had an old guy come up and offer to buy my entire watercolor sketchbook. I have a lot of ideas written in there so I refused...then he asked if he can color copy it and still pay me. What the hell? I have never heard of that before !!! hahaha

Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad to help. Being an artist can be rough so we have to help each other out. And yeah I think I've drawn more gourds in my life than I ever wanted to. I'll check back for new stuff. I really should post more work myself actually. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hello there. Nice to meet you. I looked over some of your work and here are my comments and suggestions: What strikes me the most about your work are its boldness and also the creativity of some of the imagery in the non-portrait pieces. I noticed that you seem to enjoy using texture. Some of your pieces are very expressive and scribbly while others have a much smoother texture. I noticed also that many of the pieces seem to stick primarily to one texture and because of this seem a bit flat. My suggestion for you would be to try mixing textures; say scribbly for the foreground and smooth for the background or scribbly for where the light hits and smooth for the shadowy parts. This might yield some really interesting results and also will likely create more depth. That's my two cents. I hope that helps. Keep up the great work. I'll be checking back. It's great to see the work of other artists so I appreciate the add.
