Hailing from Clinton Township, a town in Southeastern, MI, fiery red head, Christina Parker, has been singing since she could talk, but her first public performance wasn’t until she was, nine years old. From the moment she stepped foot on that stage in her elementary school where she made everyone in the room tear up, she knew making music was her destiny. “If I could have that much of an impact on a crowd of parents in my elementary school, I could impact the world!!”
After recently releasing a 4 song digital EP on iTunes and paying her dues playing coffee houses and staying actively involved with her songwriting community, Christina is well on her way to a musical destiny. “I’m a songwriter first and foremost. My songs are my babies and without them, I would not be the artist that I am. They are my story in a nutshell and I want to share it with the world in hopes that her stories will touch someone else’s life.” Christina’s philosophy is if it has touched someone else’s life then she has done her job as a songwriter.
Not only is music in Christina’s blood, she also claims that two people in her life really guided her to find that music was what she wanted to do with her life. Those people being her father, Michael, who passed in March of 2004, and her biggest musical influence and favorite singer, Reba McEntire. She’s been a fan of Reba’s since the age of two and her father always sang and played guitar around her. She remembers many Christmas Eve’s at her great aunt and uncle’s house where they had everyone singing and playing guitar. Her father only allowed her to listen to country music growing up, which is how she discovered Reba. Through the years, her father also introduced to her some of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time. Artists such as, Merle Haggard, James Taylor and many more. Christina says, if not for his influence and musical taste she wouldn't know some of these wonderful artists that she listens to and loves today. She grew up on some very influential down home country music, and today, her dream is stronger than ever and she is very driven to pursue her music career to its fullest.
Throughout her years in school, she was involved with her school choir and always looked forward to the school talent shows every year. She said being apart of choir in high school really prepared her for the musical journey she wanted to take because they traveled to different states to sing, did a variety of different shows such as Dinner Theaters, and performed on national television during the Thanksgiving Day Detroit Lions football game.
Christina began songwriting at the age of 13 and hasn’t stopped since then. You’ll notice in Christina’s songwriting, she mostly writes from a reflection of things she’s feeling or things going on in her life at that moment. “I try to write about things either going on in my life, things I feel about something or someone from a situation either I or someone around me may be in at the time. And sometimes, subjects that have nothing to do with my life or someone’s life around me, come out in a song. That is what’s so great about songwriting. You can write about anything and everything. Songwriting takes you off in to a complete world of its own.”
Christina received her very first guitar from her father, on her 15th birthday. He taught her the chords G, C, and D and told her those are the only chords she’ll ever need to know to play a country song. Everything she knew up until August of 2003 was either self taught or taught by her father. The first song he taught her to play on the guitar was “Blowing in the wind” by Bob Dylan. From August of 2003 through May of 2004, Christina took guitar lessons to further her guitar playing abilities.
In June of 2003, Christina shared the stage with artists such as Jessica Andrews, Marcel, Jimmy Wayne, Memarie, Thom Shepherd, and first season Nashville Star contestant, John Arthur Martinez. It was for the Make-A-Wish charity event called Country Board Fest. It took place at Joes Crab Shack, In Nashville, TN.
Today, Christina has three people in her life that keep her going and make her strive to be the best that she can be, everyday. Those people would be God, her son, Bailey, and her grandmother who is fighting stage 4 lung cancers.
Christina continues to write and build her catalogue while trying to make a difference in the world, musically!

Christina's dog, Daisy!!
Being the huge animal lover Christina is, she'd like to make it known that, there are a lot of animals out there in need of your love and care, so if you'll stop by your local humane society's website, or visit the link Christina has provided here, it would mean a lot to her and the animals. Christina rescued her dog, Daisy, from the humane society, and she stands by it 110%, and reccomends to anyone wanting a new pet, to try the humane society before going to a pet store. 'Cause chances are, there is that special dog or cat waiting there for you to love them!! Christina feels like the animals in the humane society are often forgotten, so if you're thinking of getting a new pet, please consider what Christina has suggested.
Christina also volunteers her time once a week to a local no-kill facility called "Almost Home" She would appreciate if you'd stop by their site and either donate your time and or give a donation to help the animals. They are in desperate need of your love and support!! Thank you very much!!!
