  • Bio

Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened. ... Anatole .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .......... ...... .......... "THE BEST HABITAT FOR THE WOLF IS THE HUMAN HEART" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Until we have the courage to recognize cruelty for what it is - whether its victim is human or animal - we cannot expect things to be much better in this world... We cannot have peace among men whose hearts delight in killing any living creature. By every act that glorifies or even tolerates such moronic delight in killing we set back the progress of humanity" ~Rachel Carson ............Get The Facts.. | ..Get web stickers........ In service - Christine dedicates her music to all those who have been silenced or who are not heard ........ "When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid." Ok lets see how close people really read this stuff...... Previously I had all the "right stuff" here - who I played with, awards, organizations - yada, yada, yada da da da ......... :-) Here is the real truth about me and why I am on "myspace" ........ - I had a "Vision" in a Sweat Lodge packed with about 125 people in August of 2000 at Tom Brown's Tracker School. Didn't quite absorb it all - shall we say. In 2002 I went off to the National Forest of Vermont on a Wilderness Vision Quest for 4 nights and days. During that time I was spoken to by all the beings in the forest. Thru a strange turn of events I met a Wolf - or at least her earthly remains - since some hunter decided her fur was so pretty he would shoot her, and she came home with me...... During my Vision Quest and after I have heard her speak many times, she comes into my dreams along with her Heart Song - Ahmahnaya and they both sing ....... being a musician - I tried all sorts of ways to translate their songs - One day I picked up a Drum and Heyawana's Song came forth. The first incarnations of it were in the community drum circles I run where everyone enjoyed singing it. The second incarnation is the recording heard on both the "Forgotten Song and Heyawana's Song" CD's ....... The current incarnation is heard on "Journeys of the Wolf" .......... Now that brings me to "Journeys of the Wolf" ......... "Journeys of the Wolf" is an improvisational musical journey experienced through the life of a Wolf. "Journeys of the Wolf" . The story moves between worlds; that of the She-Wolf, and the woman holding the vision ( me). The listener (you) will soon realize that the worlds of Wolf, Woman, Musicians and Storyteller are woven together in a very fine tapestry. It is a story that wants to be seen, felt and heard - it is a Life Ceremony. The musicians on this CD are all incredible and gave their hearts to the project. John Swana co producer/evi winds; Chico Huff fretless bass, Joe Mullen percussion - check them all out! That is the story of why I - Christine am on "myspace". The Wolves want to be heard and I am their vehicle. It is time for me to walk my walk and allow this and other musical aspects of this Vision to come forth. I have been incredibly blessed with the musicians who birthed this with me; John Swana, Joe Mullen and Chico Huff - they have heard the wolves and responded. There has also been incredible support in prayer and in tangible financial backing by Anne Park, Kathleen Cahill, Connie Paolino, Karen Feeley, Denise and Nick at Seven Stones, Barb Alesi, Ian Campbell, Julia Norbut ,Leo Daiutio, Lakota Wolf Preserve and many other individuals. They are all part of the pack that has helped this "baby" come into the world. To tell you the truth - it scares me (read the quote up top ). I am not a marketer, - and this is not an ordinary offering. It does not fit a particular genre. What I know is - that I must keep walking forward with this - whether I understand or know here to go next. I am understanding that I made a commitment to bring this "Journey" to Light". Some doors are opening - others are shutting, my life is turning inside out. I am listening still ......... and I humbly offer what I have heard, to you. I hope you will allow this story to touch your heart. I honor the Spirit of Heyawana and Ahmahnaya - Two Wolves - forever in my Heart. They were not silenced - I speak for them! My Influences ... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. " If you talk to the animals they will talk with you and you will know each other. If you do not talk to them, you will not know them and what you do not know you will fear. What One fears One destroys" .... Chief Dan George I listen as closely as I can to all around me. In particular, I listen to those who do not speak in human tongue. I remain quiet and feel what comes in. When I am clear - I allow it to flow through me out onto form - music, lyrics however it wishes. Great thanks to all my Creature Guides, Music Mentors along the way, My Spiritual Mentors, My Family, My Friends, My Students and Those Beings ( mostly human) who are difficult for me to interact with - those who challenge me. All of You are my Teachers and have helped to forge me into who I am. My greatest thanks and humble bow. I will mention one person who is the great Zen Master in my life - Ian - my son. Children teach us everything we need to know about love and just when we think we have it .......... well, then they are off on their own journey, another lesson. Finally for those still reading - There are Two Wolves Heyawana and Ahmahnaya - who are now in Spirit Form - who changed my whole life - and given me a reason to sing once again (for until their synchronous entrance into my life - I had about given up singing and all that brings me joy). These Wolves share their song with many people and ask that we all open our hearts to experience compassion. They have pulled "Journeys of the Wolf" through me and are sending it out into the World. Along the way they connected me with three of the most skillful and compassionate musicians I have had the honor of working with. John Swana, Chico Huff and Joe Mullen - Great Influences. ow Stu Frederick has entered as narrator - a man of many talents - and this Wolf Pack is ready to travel ....... You who are reading this have now entered into my life, so you become an influence also. Many Thanks and Many Blessings, Journey Well Christine .. ...... .. Christine plays with a variety of musicians in a variety of genres throughout the tri state area. Currently "Journeys of the Wolf" occupies most of her time and attention. We are All Connected. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the Earth befalls the sons of the Earth." Chief Seattle ~~~ Tell me - How does this happen? ...... .
