A fiddler and storyteller, Christine uses live loops and voice to gently blow away the thin layer of dust that has settled over old folk songs and stories, drawing the listener into a world of fragile beauty. Christine was brought up in a lovely old farmhouse full of instruments in West Wales. At eighteen she took off to see the world with her fiddle on her back, and in the years that followed she busked in the centre of the Australian Outback, traded licks with South African traditional musicians, and joined a Chinese rock band. These diverse experiences instilled in Christine a love for all musical cultures, but also a longing to get to know her own. Thus began her love for traditional Welsh and English music. In 2003 she reached the semi-final of the BBC Young Folk Award, and the following year she won the inaugural Welsh Celtic Fiddle Competition. Christine has been a member of groundbreaking Welsh group Fernhill since 2004. In 2007 Christine fortuitously bumped into fabulous singer Katherine Myles, and discovered that the two of them shared a common worldview and love of folk music. They are currently working as a duo.

Hi Christine, beautiful playing! I was ambling around the welsh countryside a few weeks ago thinking about Taliesin the bard, your music reminded me of him. xx
