Christmas Decorations formed in the fall of 2001. Founding members Nick Forte' and Steve Silverstein originally hatched a plan to grow mustaches and do some sort of vague Captain Beefheart kind of band, but then they started listening to lots of early 4AD and Asmus Tietchens records and agreed, "that'll work". The output of the group grew continually towards abstraction as they added Peter Kerlin to the line up at some point in 2005.
