Music
..
Music is my life! I promote several local artists, including Eva Hunter, Micki Croisant, Joan Anderson, Geoff Beran, and Stolen by Serious. My favorite acts of all-time include: Iain Matthews, Olivia Newton-John, Elton John, Kiki Dee, Carly Simon (I'm a sucker for 70's music in general), Radiohead, Tori Amos, Rufus Wainwright, Joe Henry, Beatles, Bee Gees, Elliott Smith (R.I.P.), Eric Carmen/Raspberries, Eurythmics, Fleetwood Mac, Coldplay, David Gray, Richard Thompson, Sandy Denny (R.I.P.), Nick Drake (R.I.P.), Seal, Travis, Unbelievable Truth, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton (classic country), Jeff Buckley (R.I.P.), James Taylor, Laura Nyro (R.I.P.), and so many others...
Olivia Newton-John - "Recovery"
Iain Matthews - "Woodstock"
Elton John - "Ego"
Nick Drake - "River Man"
Radiohead - "Paranoid Android"
"Harold & Maude"
"You and Me and Everyone We Know"
"Raising Arizona"
"Sordid Lives"
"Shortbus"
Television
I love the classic shows I grew up with - "WKRP in Cincinatti" is still my favorite (and still not on dvd!), SOAP, the Partridge Family, the Honeymooners, I Love Lucy; Twin Peaks; Everybody Loves Raymond was hilarious (R.I.P. Peter Boyle), as was Seinfeld. Today, I don't really watch tv consistently to have a favorite, and I'm a sucker for watching news shows and interview programs rather than sitcoms or hour-long serial dramas...
"WKRP in Cincinatti"
"The Partridge Family"
"Twin Peaks"
Books
I'm a sucker for rock bios (duh!) or anything having to do with music. Growing up, my favorite books were Ernest Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea" and John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men" - I even played "Lenny" on stage in college.
Heroes
I think Lance Armstrong is an amazing person...
As is Olivia Newton-John...

I'm 41 years old and currently live in Champaign, IL, after living in Chicago for the past six years (I moved on 7/22/07). I was born and raised in the soybean capital of the world, Decatur, Illinois, where nearly all the food you eat is processed (and Decatur smells for it). I have two younger brothers, Tim, who is 40 and lives in New Orleans, and Tom, who is 28 and is still in Decatur. Mom & Dad are alive and well and still in Decatur, as is my fraternal grandmother and maternal grandfather. I have a bachelor's degree in media studies with an emphasis in television production from Northern Illinois University, and I used to run cameras at WAND-TV in Decatur. I moved to Chicago in 2001 to promote local music, and I also co-manage a video store. I love music (see the list to the left), and hanging out with my friends. For more info on me & my life, check out my blog, which I will try to keep updated...

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

Who I'd like to meet: Well, I have met my favorite music star, Olivia Newton-John, on my 36th birthday in Las Vegas (thanks to my friend Mindy). I have also met Tony-winner Heather Headley, Starsailor, Joe Henry, Nelly Furtado, Rufus Wainwright, Julian Dawson, and Iain Matthews, as well as had dinner with Ron Sexsmith and lunch with Michael Buble. I would love to meet Elton John, Kiki Dee, Kim Carnes, Annie & Dave (Eurythmics), and Carly Simon...

You just may have too many videos on your site...but Merry Christmas kid! I hope you have a good one. I won't be in Decatur until the new year! I hope everything's going well in Champ-town!
I got lost in your future, and it was oh so bleak. All of the time, things don't seem to go right, now all that I have is all that I can fit in my arms... Running bold from a heart so cold, destined to find my way, in this world of countless souls.
Thank me never, cause that's the most fitting time.
. . .but if Life gets in the way (and it usually does, LOL!), let's definitely go see Milk together when it hits our area. . . I love Gus Van Sant films!

Hey, baby! Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and miss you. I don't know when, but I'm thinking of bothering the Gregs into road-tripping for the day to come out and see you. Don't tell them I have that idea - I'll work on it. But it's something that I think we'd all enjoy, so I'm going to see what I can do about it!
