Hailing from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and influenced by the likes of Jackson Browne, Neil Young, John Hiatt, and 90's country radio, Chris focused on developing himself as a professional songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist during his high school years in the marching band. Practice and hard work paid off, leading to full time keyboard work on demo sessions as well as co-writes with various writers in the Muscle Shoals area. Chris decided he and his songs belonged in Nashville, Tennessee.
In the summer of 2000 at age 22, Chris made the move and got his first publishing deal.
In 2004, Chris penned his first Top 20 hit single “ME AND EMILY”, co-written with friend and artist, Rachel Proctor. 2005 proved to be a promising year for Chris. American Idol winner Carrie Underwood recorded his song “BEFORE HE CHEATS” and it landed the 1 Spot on Country radio for 5 consecutive weeks and earned two grammy nominations, winning best country song of the year for 2007. It was also nominated for Song of the Year at the 2007 ACM and CMA Awards and was named ASCAP's 2007 Country Song Of The Year. Chris has had cuts by Daughtry, Jimmy Buffett, The Plain White T's, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Katherine Mcphee, Martina Mcbride, Kellie Pickler, Hank Williams Jr., Jack Ingram, Bo Bice, Whitney Duncan and Bucky Covington just to name a few. Chris is currently a staff writer for Big Loud Shirt Industries owned by mega-hit songwriter Craig Wiseman.

One of the largest, single day Rock n' Roll parties in the valley's history is going to take place on June 7th at The Crossroads Music Hall, 115 Clinton Ave. E., in downtown Huntsville. "MUSIC 4 MEDS" is the "Concert to Benefit The Community Free Clinic". Doors open at 1:30PM, and music begins at 2:00PM, and will continue nonstop until the wee hours.
A minimum donation of $10.00 is requested.
I imagine we all wish we were wealthy enough to write a huge check to solve the problems that arise, but for most of us, the best we can do is pitch in a little, and try to get the job done. If you can afford to show up on June 7th and donate a few bucks, we promise to play our hearts out for you and make it worth your while.
Plan on coming out and being a part of this celebration. Together we can do a lot to help our community, and have a great time doing it! Hope to see you there!
Thanks so much for your help and support. - Sonny Edwards
