and I am ever searching for precious moments in music, life, inside myself. This is why I am listening to music, making it myself and playing it to others whenever I can.
I lived in France, Germany and Ghana and I am currently based in Berlin and Asel-Süd (Edersee).
When in Berlin I am DJing in various locations and at different event series (e.g. Futura, Lesania).
If you are down for dubhouse and deep techno you should turn on the monthly “Keep/ON Radioshow”. I am hosting the show together with my buddy Jochen Otto
and we play everything from the early 90s to the latest release of the week.
I have a classical education in clarinet and trombone and also played saxophone while searching for these precious moments as a member of a jazz combo. For at least 8 years I was singing too, but later I concentrated more on various percussion instruments.
DJing started for me at the beginning of the 90s, mostly with rock, funk, pop and soul; but as soon as electronic dance music kicked in Germany I was taken by the house feeling
– and it never let me go since.
My record collection consists of music with these precious moments I am feelin for. It comprises dance music with a certain touch of emotionality and incorporates funk, soul, african, latin, asian and jazz elements – before the background of the thing called house.
As a DJ I had residencies in Grenoble, France and Hannover, Germany.
At the end of the 90s I also started organizing parties, usually illegal nights in off-locations, drawing heavily on deep and soulful house music. In Berlin I teamed up with another house head to found the formation “Keep/ON”. Under this label we are organizing parties, performing as DJ-Team and so on.
Few years ago, with a professional background in journalism, I started to write for different music magazines; currently I write for Groove Magazine.
Am 28. organisiert das Kann-Label eine Party im Conne Island. Meine Anwesenheit ist aber fraglich. 630 Kilometer Abstand stellen sich dem Besuch in den Weg :-(
