| General | Film. Renovating houses. Hiking the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico. | | Music | Anything that sounds like it could have been made by a people with real instruments and voices. Handmade stuff. | | Movies | "Choose Me" is a big favorite. "Monseiur Hire," which almost no one saw, but is one of the best movies ever. I've seen "What's Up, Doc?" at least a dozen times and never get tired of it. I liked "Donnie Darko" a lot.
I just re-watched The Day After Tomorrow. That makes three times! What is WRONG with me?? SOMEONE STOP ME BEFORE I WATCH THIS HUNK OF CRAP AGAIN! Who knew the catastrophe of global climate change could be so unintentionally funny? | | Television | "Deadwood" and "Six Feet Under" are good. The Discovery Channel's "A Haunting" is a guilty pleasure. | | Books | Anything by Flannery O'Connor. | | Heroes | The people running Heifer, International. Rather than giving money, they give people in third world countries animals. For example, a Vietnamese farmer could never save enough to buy a water buffalo. Heifer, International will give him one and suddenly his rice yeild goes up a hundred times, he can hire his neighbors and the economics of the whole village goes up immediately. Brilliant.
The people running America's Second Harvest are high on my list, too.
Garth Brooks. He wrote a song supporting his lesbian sister and courageously stood by it. |

About me:
My life has been an amazing adventure and I'm not done yet! I wish I could travel back in time and visit my high school self in Albuquerque and assure him that everything was going to turn out great.
I'm a professional actor. (I recently shot a guest star on Fox TV's Standoff that aired on June 15th, and a guest spot on On the Lot which aired in early August.) I'm starting a screenwriting career having earned my MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA.
