I started listening to vinyl records when I was four or so. Mostly old country giants like Johnny Cash, Meryl Haggard, Willie Nelson. I used to think music was magic because it was so amazing to me. I still feel that way. My grandpa "Popo" gave me my first guitar at the age of five and I remember he said he used to play it when he was young. I didn't take it seriously I guess until after I learned to play the drums. I was into the whole punk scene for a while in Orcutt California, boy those were the days. I got married at 15 which put a halt on my childhood rather quickly. I had my son Kane at 15 and as to be expected we didn't last as a teen married couple. I don't know. I think it was after that point in my life where I learned a lot about writing from the depth. I love music that transports you to a different place and catapults you to the emotion of the song. I've always wanted to do that. I love writing songs about life, God, friends, heart ache. It's what I do. Not sure if I'll ever get paid to do it but that's okay. I'll keep doing it.
