I'VE BEEN MAKING MUSIC FOR ABOUT 5 OR 6 YEARS. MY INFLUENCE GROWING UP WAS MY BROTHER SHERROD. HE HELPED ME BECOME A BETTER EMCEE. HIS YOUNGER COUSIN KAHLIL FROM NEW YORK CITY CAME OUT HERE TO LIVE AND THATS WHEN I WAS INTRODUCED TO REAL HIP HOP. THEY USE TO FREESTYLE AND I USED TO JUST SIT THERE AND LISTEN. THAT WAS WHEN I WAS 12 OR 13. AS I GOT OLDER I STARTED FLOWING IN THE CYPHER. EVEN WHEN MY FREESTYLES WERE GARBAGE I KEPT AT IT AND PRACTICED EVERY DAY TO SHARPEN MY BLADE. I NEVER REALLY MASTERED THE ART OF FREESTYLING I CONSIDER MY FREESTYLE AVERAGE. BUT MY PEN GAME THATS ANOTHER STORY. LOCKED UP IN SHUMAN CENTER A JUVEINILE FACILITY IN PITTSBURGH WHEN I WAS 15, I HAD NOTHING BUT TIME SO I STARTED WRITING AND THE WORDS JUST POURED OUT ON THE PAPER. A YEAR LATER I WAS RELEASED. FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS I KEPT WRITING THEN I STARTED RECORDING TRACK FROM INSTRUMENTALS. THAT WAS COOL BUT I WANTED MORE, SO A COUPLE MORE YEARS WENT BY AND I BOUGHT A STUDIO AND FROM THEN I'VE BEEN MAKING MUSIC EVER SINCE. I STARTED A MYSPACE PAGE JUST TO GET MY NAME OUT THERE AND BE HEARD THEN I CAME ACROSS THIS CONTEST FOR LOUD.COM AND I STARTED TO LAY DOWN TRACKS, AND BY MY 3rd OR 4th TRACK I WAS SELECTED AS THE ROUND 7 WINNER OF THE FIRST CONTEST. WITH MY TRACK CALLED "7TH ROUND K.O" UNFORTUNETLEY I WAS NOT SELECTED IN THE TOP 3. I WAS DISAPPOINTED BUT IT MADE ME REALIZE THAT I HAD TO WORK THAT MUCH HARDER TO GET IT. SO WHEN I FINALLY DO GET IT. I KNOW I'M GONNA HAVE TO WORK EVEN HARDER TO KEEP IT..........CHRIS HAZE
