London-based soloist Christopher Kay steps in for a first taste of the UK Gospel industry with this neatly packaged four-track single (Mercy)
As a voice, he can certainly deliver with that mature Soul approach. The opener radio edit is what you’d call daytime radio playlist – easy to listen to and standard down-tempo ballad arrangement. Nice touches include the intro and bridge featuring much-talked about Jazz Saxophonist André ‘Saxman’ Brown.
Hailing from London, South East, Kay was introduced to music very early. The product of a music-inspired family, by age 6 he was already singing with a local choir in Ketu in Nigeria. He relocated to United Kingdom at the age 17 he was producing his own tracks. By the time Kay graduated from Southwark College, it was clear that his steps were being ordered. He went on to further his education in Goldsmith University and began singing with the HOP and New wine choir. This experience became the launching pad for a promising career and a wide range of opportunities.
Kay sang in the Gospel concert held at Fairfield hall at Croydon, New wine church, Christ Tabernacle Choir and HOP Choir. Motivated by these opportunities, Kay accepted Gods plan for his life, and with the support of family and friends he recorded his first album.
