As I said, it’s just me (and I currently don’t play any instruments, so I am not performing/recording right now). But on the songs posted, keys on Peter’s Lullaby are by Brian Kehew - it was just a rough mockup of the song we threw down on a CD one night...and then Eric Bloom from Old Souls on guitar on Love Like Water (and he wrote the music for that song, I just wrote the lyrics)...a ’home recording’ done in haste before I moved to NYC...and the last one is an oldie but goodie from Old Souls: Eric Bloom wrote the lyrics/music, Guillermo Mendoza is on electric, & Steven Kelly Denman on drums -- For myself these days, still looking for musicians & collaborators, so let me know if anyone is interested...
Influences
Over the Rhine, Hoi Polloi, Fleming & John, Sarah Harmer, The Violet Burning, Kate Price, Happy Rhodes, Innocence Mission, PFR, U2, Rachel Kurtz, Sixpence None the Richer, Becky Schlegel, Kasey Chambers, etc etc
Sounds Like
None of this is probably true - but these are the comments I've gotten at times: Karin Bergquist of Over the Rhine, Karin Peris of Innocence Mission, Alanis Morrisette, Leigh Nash of Sixpence, Tori Amos, Gwen Stefani, Joni Mitchell...? I have no idea. :)
Well the band is just me currently. If you happen to be someone who wants to help me with that situation, feel free to write! :)
Past bands: thursday james ('97, Chicago); Old Souls ('04-'05, Hollywood); performed with Rick Beerhorst for several months recently (end of '05, here in NYC) - you can check out the Old Souls' site at www.christymerry.com/oldsouls (I moved it there when it expired).
Yes! It's going to be great out to go to the beach and hang out around Coney Island. Anytime works for me, send me an email or give me a ring so we can plan it all out :-) Hugs and Love, Kim
Thanks so much for coming to the show, your support and understanding for the cause and being a great friend. Looking forward to hanging out again. Hugs and Love, Kim
Awsome! I should start saving money then I guess :) It's such a huge country (US), I can imagine that you're willing to want to see more of it! I'll have to leave it by pictures and movies in the meanwhile! Also heard lots of stories of course from friends and all.
Btw, what time is it over there? Over here it's pretty late, I'm in the middle of the night!
Do you play music yourselve too? And you should take the Voyces with you to the other side of the ocean :) The music they make could become huge over here! :)
I hope I'm not bothering you by my poor english typing! :) haha
It's my honor to be your first Hollandish friend Madame! How cool :)
Hehe, yeah Prague might seem not so far from Holland, but in european terms, it's pretty far away! :) hehe Been there a few times by the way, it's pretty okey! You should visit Holland if you're in Europe again, crazy place to be! ;)
I would love to go to a show from the Voyces and NY would be awsome! Always wanted to go there some day, but you have to make choices, been to Australia last year, sooo.. I'm out of money for the next few months! :) But you are also from New York City?
Hey Girl, Long time no hear! How's NY? Was there recently on business.....never have any time to have fun though! Keep me posted about when you're in town and maybe we can hook up! Hugs!
Thank you Madame, I'm indeed a big fan of the Voyces, found them 2 yrs ago or something, I just like honest songs I guess :) Ever been to Holland by the way? Well, anyway thanks once again for your reply, hope to hear from you in the future! Big hug! Kiss
