Bio
Christy Moser (born Christy Suggett) was born March 9, 1976 in Twin Falls, Idaho. She grew up in Pearland, Texas, a small town just south of Houston. As the 3rd generation of singers and musicians in her family, this little lady lights up the stage with a great big soulful voice. For more than eighteen years at local and international events her voice has showcased a wide range of styles and genres including Gospel, Country, Jazz, Big Band, Disco, R&B, Classic Rock, 80's & 90's, Pop, and Top 40 tunes. She attributes her success to her dedicated Christian parents who had a great influence on her music beginning. Christy has been singing since she was old enough to talk. She learned about life on the road by singing and playing drums at churches and conventions across the nation with her Pentecostal minister parents. Performing inspirational music has always been her passion. Christy says, "I knew singing was my calling from the very beginning. The best feeling is singing in a room filled with positive energy and knowing you're right where you should be". At 15 years old, Christy recorded her first gospel album. Christy's momentum built over the next several years as she traveled nationwide performing as a soloist and drummer in the Christian Life College choral group. While attending college in Stockton, California, she studied Music Theory, Music History, Ear Training, Site Reading, Piano, and Vocal Technique. For several years at First Church of Pearland, Texas, Christy served as a Kid's Church Music Minister and she was a Lead Soloist in the musical production "The Fire Still Falls". For more than 5 years, Christy supported The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by singing at various fundraiser events. In 2005, with a top score of 40 while singing Country music, Christy was named Houston's newest Singing Sensation as Winner of KPRC Houston's "Gimme the Mic". She received the grand prize: a brand new Jeep Liberty Renegade from Lawrence Marshall. Also, she received 2-song recording from Dan Workman at the legendary SugarHill Recording Studios in Houston, TX. This resulted in the 2 Hit Songs, "In Between the Kiss and Goodbye" and "Close Enough to Stay". Since December 2005, on more than 100 stages around Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, Christy has rocked the mic as a Lead Singer in Houston's premier party band, "The Works". She currently shares the stage with 9 of the finest singers and musicians performing at corporate, private and public events. During opening week, 2006, Christy sang the National Anthem at the Houston Astro's game. In 2008, Christy represented the great state of Texas as one of 5 National Finalists at the 26th Annual Colgate Country Showdown in Nashville, TN where she had the wonderful experience of singing on stage with LeAnn Rimes at the Ryman Auditorium. As the featured Vocalist on the new Whispering Angels project, Christy is proud to present "Lullabies for Lil Christians", CD released in June 2009. -
