Never happier than when he’s playing guitar, Chris Warner is a unique singer-songwriter who naturally breaks away from the well worn path of down-beat acoustic music, playing a refreshing summer sound positively charged with life, love and sharing good times.
Since discovering an old nylon strung guitar in his grandparents’ spare room at the age of 10, writing songs was instinct and he has been playing in bands in one form or another since aged 13.
Originally influenced by the 90’s Seattle Grunge Scene, in 2004, Chris hung up his electric guitar to go in a new direction. Introduced to the music of G. Love & Special Sauce, Jack Johnson and Ben Harper along with finding love at the same time, everything started to fall into place and it wasn’t long until songs were falling out of his acoustic guitar at a prolific rate, finding his own voice and direction.
Over the next couple of years he went on to record three EP's, selling over 1000 copies worldwide and playing over 150 shows up and down the country, honing in his skills as an engaging live performer. With every song and every gig he injects a high level of passion and performance, interacting with the crowd getting them rocking to his beats like the Pied Piper of summer grooves. His enthusiasm and talent are clearly evident through his larger than life presence on stage, not to mention his infectious melodies and hooks which you'll find yourself singing for days after.
Through 2008 Chris built solid momentum by performing at some of the best festivals and venues the UK has to offer, including the Summer Sundae Festival alongside Supergrass, The Coral & Macy Gray, the Big Session Festival with Steve Earle & Seth Lakeman and London’s infamous Water Rats Theatre.
Rounding off the year by releasing his new, self-titled EP, from the laid back grooves of 'I Don't Know' to the reggae infused 'Rock The Mic', the record is by far Chris' strongest work to date; oozing long summer days spent chilling with friends and a cold beer. Yes, be it from a live performance or through your stereo, Chris Warner will make it feel like summer time no matter what the weather.
“exceptionally well recorded, a great, catchy, song. This could do a storm in today’s climate…great live” Future Music
“upbeat tunes custom made for the summer time” Leicester Mercury
Chris Warner performs 'Eternal Sunshine' with guitarist Rob Connolley on BBC Radio Leicester. 4th September 2008.
