I grew up in Bayou Black. A small farmsted of sugar cane fields in South Louisiana. I have four brothers, all musicians and talented writers as well. I guess for us (as for many), it started with the Beatles. From that point on, my brother Bill bought a guitar, now here I am. I've spent the last four years in the Nashville scene, learning the tide of the business. Anyone who writes understands, it's tough. At this point, it matters not--one day I will win a grammy for my work. It's not ego, it's just fact! I have to beleive in me and my music and I do.
I've performed with Percy Sledge, Oliver "who shot the la la" Morgan and played the House of Blues in New Orleans with Delma Trosclair and the Heaven Seekers. I received top billing to perform in Salida, Colorado for two years in a row for the song "Colorado Calling Me" at the National "FibArk" festival. I wrote "Pulling it together" which became an anthem for releif efforts of Hurrican Andrew.
Richard Toups recently recorded three of my songs for his latest C.D.. And this man has one great vocal.
All I ask, give my material a chance in your life. The radio makes us like songs. If you listen to mine more than three times as the radio does, I would be number one with you as well. I publish all comments, good or bad, like or dislike. I fear not the ones who attack, for they will only make me a better writer. I embrace the ones who fall in love with one of my songs because i've made a difference for them. Most importantly, support live music and writers and poets. Each day one of them is making you smile!
